Far out look how good the dogs are playing.. In 2 years they picked up Crameri. Bonts and Boyd... But its not even that. This is what good coaching means to a club. They look like a completely different team to last year.
Its so important to have a good coach. Most important.

Did you watch the game though? It was far from boring. Yeah, we didn't see a lot of goals, but that was because the pressure in the middle of the ground and from defence was immense, neither team could convert their good plays into 6 points. The ball was flying from one end to the other though, despite being low scoring.

It definitely wasn't a chip it around, maintain possession game that's typical of low scoring matches.

I don't get the whole assumption that because a match is low scoring, that it is necessarily boring. Some of the best finals and grand finals in particular have been lower scoring affairs. For mine low scoring matches often indicate a higher level of intensity. Maybe there aren't quite as many goals to see but there are still other things which make matches enjoyable such as crunching tackles, players putting their bodies on the line and the extra significance of every goal that is kicked.

Can anyone point out a better, more competitive round of AFL football in the last 5 years? Not to mention that we still have the best (or equal best, Swans and Eagles played some thrillers) rivalry of the modern era in Hawthorn vs Geelong still to come tomorrow.

They make so few mistakes. Its almost like the players are are all line coaches themselves.. You see Clarkson in the box, he doesnt even have to coach he just watches it all unfold. Its crazy.
