Richmond look so poorly coached its not funny.. if u go through their list, in all honesty i would say they should be pushing for premierships. The only player that is over performong is Edwards. The rest just seem to be going through the motions. When you compare their list to the dees they should be 10 goals in front of them. Their defensive game is very poor. If Lyon was coaching that list they would be close to winning a premiership. Got a feeling Hardwick will be shown the door this year. Seems like hes been there forever.

Gotta disagree. Their list doesn't scream anything but 'mid-table' to me. I hope to God we don't end up on a Richmond path at the end of this rebuild; not enough talent to be anything more than a bottom finals side.

roos might be a good coach, but it is a vastly different list to what he had when he took on the job.
also he has a very good support team around him.
they have recruited well the last couple of years and Hogan will be a star.
roos will get all the credit, as a one band band.

Agree with this I don't rate the Tigers list one bit. I'd say their list is not far advanced from ours and they will hit Blues level in two years.

Melbourne's list by comparison is really taking shape. They've got a good to solid midfield that will be very good when guys like Brayshaw and Petracca become mature.

Their forward line is really taking shape with Hogan and Dawes the tall targets and plenty of pace with Garlett and Kennedy Harris. All they are missing is a medium forward/part time mid and Petracca will give them that.

Their biggest weakness is their back line needing a bit more size and quality there. If I were them I would let Howe walk to free up $500k or so and throw big dollars at Alex Rance.

I can see Paul Roos turning this Melbourne team into a finals team in the next couple of years. One thing about Paul Roos lead teams is they give their all, Roos doesn't struggle to motivate his squad.

As soon as I saw Newman and Chaplin out for the Tiges I jumped on the Dees. Talk about a club lacking leaders!

Dees into Saints paying $10.35 yesterday ;)

Gotta hand it Roos. He went in there and shook the crap out of that club. There is finally something to excite their long suffering fans. Give them 2 or 3 more years and look out.

would have Jones in flash.

I think they are more referring to his 2014 form when he was AA.

Yeah, he's very good. He has a bit of a combination of Sam Fisher and Brian Lake. Gets lots of intercept marks and sets up play and has that big body for the big guys. Probably the best KPB in the AFL these days.

I like Jones and his pressure game plan is great. I worry he has patched a competitive team together but will be a bit short term visioned. He has lots of those Vince, Lumumbler etc that are their better players. Hogan is the only really outstanding prospect from the kids IMO. They might end up Richmond like in a few years if they keep patch working the list where they hit a ceiling. I hope our system is better stepping back to go forward.

Brayshaw, Petracca, Hogan, McDonald, Viney, Tyson, Neal-Bullen, Stretch, Salem & Kent should all be very good players, so I think the long term vision is there, they just need to keep adding to them & trade off 'dead wood' while they still have some currency (Watts, Toumpas)

Melbourne have pretty much started from scratch. They have brought in some senior heads which the club was seriously lacking in the past.

We cam talk about Dawes, Lumumba and Vince... but we still have Dempster, Fisher, Roo, Ray and Joey None of these guys will be around in a few years time.

Big difference will be that their young talent won't be wasted under Roos like it was under Bailey etc.

Richmond's list is B grade at the moment and they will need a major shake up if they wish to go further.
