Come on Collingwood beat the Blues by 100 points.

Would be nothing more fitting for the sour old bastard coaching.

Bell and Henderson both completely hopeless tonight. Just shows where we are at allowing those two uber spuds to kick nine goals against us

It does, but GC aside, it also seems like teams are playing out of their skins against us...

Henderson kicks 5 against us; does a hamstring tonight.

Bell kicks 4 and has a mountain of the ball; 13 touches and a goal.

Cripps was immense; ok at best tonight.

And Murphy hasn't had 18,000 frees gifted to him...

We're not great, but we're not getting much luck either.

Amazing that at half time tonight Collingwood were 56 to 22 we were 54 to 40 last week. Big difference was 22-frees to 6 Carltons way that kept us from breaking them. Go into half time 66 to 24 and we win.

Rahul good comment. Like to think I would be gracious that if he didn't want to be with us, but know the reality is I would add him to the Plugger, Hall, Ball, Lyon etc shit list.
I still have a soft spot for Lyon. Same for Dal Santo (who I think we miss the most, and have missed as much as we will miss Roo), and a bit for Goddard. But if any player left after 2 years at St Kilda, and never looked like re-signing, and didn't even go home after that, I'd openly, unashamedly boo them. Truth is, I'd probably encourage the club to release said player into the PSD then re-draft them out of spite.

I was disappointed that Armfield scored that final point for Carlton and brought their total to 45

I was hoping it would remain on Milney's old number.

The liar has had a long career, but I was nauseated by the amount of sycophantic toadying the media have delved to prior to this match against Collingwood.

Malthouse did fairly at Footscray, was gifted a state squad plus at WCE for only 2 premierships, and despite the humongous resources at Collingwood could only scrape a tie to force a rematch and a sole premiership in how many years. At Carlton we can see why Collingwood got rid of him - hes a yesterday's man who's ordinary coaching record is flattered by the WCE gifts

Agree, besides from being very lucky after winning after a draw Vs us.
If We hadve been able to win in 2010 Malthouse wouldve coached 4 losing Grand Finals at Collingwood.
But unfortunately the prick won one :(

There is a part of me who hates him cos of the Milne incident.

But you have to respect him for being a coach for 30 years in a very cut throat industry. And has managed to win 3 flags which is still a remarkable achievement for anyone, no matter the time frame.

Normally you are a balanced poster K, but you've let emotion get the better of you here.

But everytime we say we dont like 'Coll or Carl or Ess' for example arent we letting emotions rule us?
Whats the diff? A flog is a flog.

Theres a difference between liking someone and respecting someone.
I respect his record.
BUT!!! i still think the guy is a petulant rude sook. So i find it hard to respect the man.
Is that a compromise :p

I'll cop that
I dislike Mick and I HATE Carlton

Me too, agree with this sentiment.

Just believe that he is deserving of a lot of respect, considering his achievements.

Much in the same way I defend Milne's record as a footballer when my mates try to taint his history.

Malthouse is a political survivor. He is the ultimate in what I don't like about some aspects of football. Left Saints for money and finals with Richmond and has done same with Bulldogs, Eagles, Pies and Blues. A self centred egotist, that I have no respect for. His longevity is amazing, showing that he is a survivor, but not admired, or liked for anything else. And yes personal bias on show.

Hard to argue against that, especially since the ends don't always justify the means.

But I'll maintain that as a coach (Which is different from his media personality), he has always had his players on his side, being able to get the best out of them his whole coaching career while also keeping up with the times, even being at the forefront of it. While others have burnt out, been found out or retired he has managed to stay in the game and to continually develop (however, his term as Carlton coach is looking like it will go against everything I just wrote).

That I have respect for.

Him leaving for money and finals? That's just the business he is in.
