A new series on the Hun about youth in each of the teams. We're in this week.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...under-22-players/story-fni5f22o-1227336810364

The voting at the bottom has the Pies (unsurprisingly, given the Hun's clientele) as having the best youth, with us second.

Not quite sure why Collingwood are winning by so much though. Do you reckon its almost effectively a measure of the number of Pies vs Saints supporters who read the article?

Wow, Steven May gets three weeks because Rockliff had no awareness and ran into his shoulder pretty much and dog act Lewis gets 2 weeks.

#justice

Pretty clear bump from May IMO. Hit the head and you pay the price, shouldn't have appealed.
Appealing shouldn't be a reason for an extra penalty. Appealing is about fairness and equity.

Lewis get two for a deliberate head high attack on a player, May gets three for a bump.

AFL tribunal has proved once again that they are useless

Wheels are falling off at Gold Coast. Did everyone see all those who will be unavailable for them this week? Heard them say on one of the footy shows last night (maybe Classified) that they only have 25 to choose from this week, after Bennell, McKenzie and Matera were stood down and they got 3 or 4 new injuries (including Jack Martin and Garlett). Huge chance that they and Brisbane will finish bottom two the way things are traveling up North. Carlton so bad and dispirited they may round out the bottom 3.

unfortunately they are undoing all of mckennas coaching and the fact they just didnt manage the list build properly (see what GWS did with lamberts role)

But on the flip side by round 13 they will get a large number back and they will start to win games.......I still think they'll finish above us.

Agree with you re Brisbane and Carlton. I think you can throw Melbourne in there also. And the Eagles are not far behind due to their shocking run with injuries. They've lost their two key defenders and now it looks like Kennedy might be out for the rest of the season. Probably will have too much playing out of Perth but they will struggle.

Key games are our 2 games against Brisbane and Melbourne as based on current performances we're a chance to win all 4 of those games....

Loved how Eddie is threatening to quit over new changes to revenue sharing (proposed by the AFLPA), as if the majority of AFL fans will be upset :D
i will be, i think he's great for the game.

although were all selfish and think he should go ahead with the revenue split, imagine if we were collingwood, we would be saying the same things

I think he's good for the game as well but he's only ever really cared about equalization when it doesn't affect Collingwood. If he doesn't truly believe in equalization then he can ship off, Hawks are planning to build a 50 million dollar facility basically because they can so something needs to be done quickly.

Eddie is annoying but re the expansion/northern clubs he keeps the AFL honest and inadvertently assists us to an extent.

Eddie is great for one club, what he does for Collingwood is excellent, but if he had his way he's probably turn the competition into an EPL-style free for all, damning the Dogs, Dees, us, North, Cats, Lions, Suns, Swans and Giants to decades worth of mediocrity.

I just want to say nah not really.

I am still bitter that the AFL kicked out Fitzroy when they did, and to effectively lose that as a public spectacle and resign it to a Victorian league level years afterwards is in effect a kick in the nuts. Playing robin hood isn't working because then you piss off the Sheriff to pay the paupers and watch as they don't use the money to its nearest percentile like the sheriff did, but similarly, there's a very good reason Essendon screwed the pooch so royally, because someone was going to, and it was going to be connected with money. Whilst also not feasible due to the current structures, if Collingwood were to condense itself to a $30m club from an $80m club operationally, whilst everyone else was a $30m club, they would be entirely entitled to retain all profits gained, we cannot have this though because those profits then get either equally distributed and thus moots the entitlement that equality brings, or creates an imbalance by those who are more marketable and those who purse interest with greater speed and effort.

What I'm getting at is both sides can argue back and forth for a millennia and never come up with a solution that will appease all involved, we are, in a way moving towards an EPL free for all with free agency if the players get their ultimate choice on the matter of unrestricted movement.

GWS have just hit the front against the Hawks courtesy of a Treloar goal, a minute before half time.

They're getting an armchair ride from the umpires, but by God are they the real deal...

Victory beat City
Saints beat Bulldogs
Bombers lose
Pies lose
Hawks lose

If Carlton lose today, the weekend couldn't get any better!!!
