Not too carried away with it, as Lions only had 6 listed players including rookies in their team to go with the 8-10 pure NEAFL blokes. The rest were QAFL & U18 top ups

Ferk me, that is ridiculous. I think you could make an argument that running around in sides that are dishing out floggings in a average competition, is ultimately going to be really detrimental to the development of some of these GWS kids.

They obviously can't play everyone in the senior side and the step down is just too great. Kids playing in the 2's are not been exposed to a high standard of footy. The would learn a lot more playing in the VFL. Some of them are going to get very frustrated playing NEAFL.

But I did watch the Giants magoos play NT Thunder the other week in the NEAFL .

apparently they actually sacked him, went through the process, brought him in. broke the news to him and started finalising it, only for him to turn around and claim unfair dismissal, which apparently he would have won. so they reverted the decision.

Sounds about right re unfair dismissal, since whilst he may be at fault, so would be pretty much everyone at that club as well during that time, and the Dons legal advice has been, well, less than stellar would be kind during this saga. The club no doubt would have tried to move Hird on as first scapegoats for any issues with the football department is "sack the coach".

My pet hate of the rules of the game those first 5 words are. So yes and no, there is consistency, but it is consistency of opinion which is as different as the individual giving it so there is no consistency.

I love it. The umpires are ****ing incompetent bordering on corrupt so good on him for doing whatever he can to get an advantage. It's not like the fair and equitable umpiring to all players and teams has been unbalanced by this act of trickery.
