Interesting that Melbourne have finished above us two years in a row, but I reckon consensus among neutral fans would be that we're in better shape.

We play a tougher game. I had the same opinion re GWS and Gold Coast for the same reason.

Genuine question but how many games did Melbourne just miss? They lost to us in the last 20 seconds, were there any others?

GWS round 1, Essendon (Schneider miss) and Geelong (Savage miss, coward umps) are all games we could have won with an extra 5 minutes.

Before the last 2 (and if you want to extend it further back, it probably holds true fir a while) games, I believe we had a much healthier percentage than Melbourne have had in general.

I don't get to watch a lot of footy. Finally a moment, choosing to watch the replay of the game against the Cats rather than the travesties of the last fortnight.

First time I've seen Saunders play, and my God it is weird seeing the number 35 running around without Robert Harvey's head above it. Much more than Lenny's and Milney's numbers.

I know its a bit unfair and preemptive, but if Saunders were to be let go, anyone got thoughts about the next person to inherit the famous number? Would you give it to our rd one pick straight up or give one of our current crop the chance to earn it? Also, any idea how/why Saunders ended up with the number? Strange choice...

Lewis in that squad sums it up for me. He's had a very average year.

I look at the squad and it just looks like they've grabbed a handful from each the top 8 then the rest on players that are perennially overhyped. Otherwise known as the Luke Darcy method.

Rioli, Lewis, Boyd, Ibbotson, McGovern, Gibson all lucky to me.

Even someone like Burgoyne has had a down year off previous form.

But the Lewis one is the big one to me that confirms they're basing a lot of this off stats.

How doesn't Stefan Martin get a go?

As for the Carlisle thing, whatever happens someone will be happy and the other party feel ripped.

No idea how Saunders ended up with the number tbh...

Would be happy to give it to our first draft pick this year which will most likely be a midfielder.

Or we could give it to Josh Kelly when he heads over here

My stream just cut out, but were Bartlett and Waldron just talking about Collingwood playing 17 men in the last few minutes against North back in 05 so that they could land Pendlebury and Thomas?
So they potentially cheated us out of a flag by tanking?
