In other list management news. Essendon has elevated Shaun McKernon, because no other club in their right mind would send one of their ruckmen there.
Lol and all their supporters think Tom Hickey is not a good player. I should bookmark that thread , time will show.

I see the AFL are doing a ' Country Game' between Geelong & Essendon to honour Aussie Farmers.
Those 2 teams make sense i suppose .
Geelong can represent the Dairy Farmers and Essendon can represent the Genetically Modified Foods:p

Heard Sheeds on the radio about it, that Essendon was about as north as you can get before going country. Quip was that they were just in Tullamarine, as we all know that place with the international airport, his remark was "I know, but Sunbury is the next suburb".

46km north of Melbourne we are, Koondrook for instance is 301km, what with being on the border of the River Murray. In that sense;

Essendon 10km
Footscray 5km

I think the term "country" in this instance really only applies to Geelong which is 75km away from Melbourne, and they can't exactly play themselves. Also, just for shits and giggles;

Moorabbin 15km

So it's not even a great argument to have Essendon either. :D TBF this also could have had East v West to it, but far be it for me to think for the AFL and gateways to Melbourne.

So Essendon have Anzac day and the dreamtime match. And now they want "The Vegtable Cup" or whatever the hell the match is gonna be called.
Dont think the Essendon Brand is quite as strong as it used to be. The whole suppliment/injection saga has left a bad taste in the mouth of many AFL fans.
Besides from Essendon supporters not many other AFL fans would really want to watch Essendon at the minute. They are a looooong way away from being a top 4 club now.
Think this push from Sheedy and the Bombers for this game is more about some type of positive media exposure for them and not so much about some bloke in Trentham growing Spuds for a living.

Or you could use Seaford: 37km. :)

Is this the same bombers who struggled to make the trip to Wangaratta?

Same bombers, I like to view it from the same Bombers who live ina palce that had a preexisting airport and people went "it's too loud, close it!" as if they expected anything less.

As you can probably tell, I don't rate them that much.

I didn't know James Hird lived in Trentham

Majak Daw delisted by North, with the hopes to rookie list him (seems like every second team is doing that this year).

Surely he doesn't get past Essendon or the Bulldogs.

He does, unless he specifically agrees to go to either club and informs North of this, people think clubs are aresholes with this sort of thing when really, they aren't.

is Nathan Freeman still eligible for the Rising Star? entering his 3rd year but yet to play a game. I'm not sure of the rules. Might be a 2 year rule?

Speaking of Essendon - There was an article in Friday's Herald Sun where Paul Little and John Worsfold said they would be back in the top 4 in the next 3 years!

Well, they can, having drafted same number of top 10 draft picks as us in the drafts 2013 to 2015 (including the upcoming draft).

At which point Watson and BJ will retire and they will drop down again.

Except i can't see them getting as high as the top 4.

Let me guess... and then they'll make a movie about it...?

There's a reason our plan targeted picks in a broader range than just the top 10. How many have the Dons had in the first 3 rounds or inside 21?

Thoughts on the Dees' new logo?

Personally, I reckon it's nicer than the old monstrosity, which was way too cluttered and complicated. I don't get why they went for black over blue, given their colours.
