This is most likely a once ever opportunity for a grand final outside Melbourne. It has to be at the gabba, and not hijacked by GC.

This grand final has to be a good thing for the afl. They are supporting us and know our club is in a very poor position. This aflw series and grand final beats any pr/ad campagin they could ever mount in our support. Hiring the gabba for 1 extra game is small change to the millions they poor into us every year atm.

I'm so excited. Big question- does my membership guarantee my seats or will it be first in get whichever seats? And can I get tickets in my section for non afl friends? We have friends with a 13yo daughter who is an athlete who wants to.play but who aren't keen. This game could change that.

It's still free entry isn't it? So anyone should be able to attend, and sit where they want?

Yes to free entry is my understanding. However it is possible that people will have to go through the process to get tickets without having to actually pay. If there are 15000 likely to attend it becomes a safety issue. They probably have no idea what is going to happen yet.

I'd imagine that they will only open certain sections of the stadium and it will be general admission in all those sections. Makes sense from a catering POV. They did that first year of the big bash

Reckon they will get a really good crowd for the GF (15K) so will need to be selective in what areas they open up for catering purposes. Ticketing it as a free game will give them an indication of numbers but its another cost.

Nah, given the movement of the men's game later I think it just about confirms that it'll be at the Gabba to allow for travel time.
