The body found in an Oakleigh storage unit is a female. This rules out any underworld involvement imo
So as I posted this a fresh story now says male and says the person has been identified and the death is suspicious - The Age

When it comes to understanding child rape - in the 'why would anyone do this?' sense of understanding - I typically end up at 'every now and then, the world produces someone who is a sick monster, we don't know why'. In other words, there's something wrong with the person who did that but they're fortunately rare.

So how the * do you get 18 of them in the one place, agreeing to rape a 12 year old?

Can only be explained by the environment they are operating in. Much like the behaviour of Germans during WWII. You create the right conditions and atrocities somehow become acceptable to many rather than the few.

Seems a bit strange for what they're saying is a targeted shooting.

Two men who fled the scene of a fatal shooting in Sydney's west yesterday offered people in a nearby apartment complex handfuls of cash to hide them, residents say.

George Nassif, 46, was shot on the corner of George and Lachlan streets in Warwick Farm about 5:20pm yesterday, in what police believe was a targeted attack.

Police said two men fled the scene on foot before door knocking residents three blocks away.

Residents of the building told the ABC the men had tried to bribe them.

So what's the go with female prison guards spreading their legs to inmates?

Is this a government initiative to improve the behaviour of inmates and make sure they don't try to escape?

https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/aust...-with-prison-guard/ar-BBL1UAB?ocid=spartanntp

The last time this bold initiative was introduced in Victoria, it backfired when a female prison guard smuggled explosives into the jail and helped the prisoner she was boinking and his buddy (who they later shot in the bush) escape.

They were caught trying to wade across the Goulburn River with cops on each side. Not as glamorous or romantic as I think they thought it would be but ... nice try.

A 38 year old mother of 3 found dead in her home just around the corner from my house. Initially being treated as a suicide, but now sounds like a murder investigation . Too close to home for me!

Bega school girl murders. Sickening after reading about the details. I don't think there's a thread about it which is surprising given all the other ones of Aussie crimes/murders.

What's to lose? If you lose your job over it, which you should, the media will pay you big bucks for your story and the public will lap it up. Sex sells.

Probably should be a bit tougher than a misconduct charge when prison guards have so much power.

4 missing men all connected

Four suspected murders during the 1990s have been linked by South Australian police as they probe a number of criminal associations and drug dealings.

Major Crime Investigation Branch officers have concluded the disappearances and suspected murders of Leo Daly, David McWilliams, Robert Pendergast and Juan Morgan appear to be connected.

Juan Morgan was 15 when he disappeared in early 1992 and they believed the teenager was taken to a location, possibly in the east of regional South Australia, and shot dead, then his body buried.

Police think the teenager had stolen a car from a criminal associate and damaged property.

two suspects being linked to his death, one was also thought to be involved in the disappearances and suspected murders of three other victims, Mr Daly, Mr McWilliams and Mr Pendergast, police said.

Mr Daly, 33, was last seen alive in April 1998 and police said he had drug debts.

A drug debt is also thought to be behind Mr Pendergast's killing in 1999.

In late July 1998, Mr McWilliams, 39, was shot and buried, possibly also in the east of regional South Australia, police said.

Officers said the thought he was silenced after boasting about his own and others' involvement in Mr Daly's murder.

Bodies may be in Murraylands/Monarto Zoo area

"The only information investigators have is that three of the victims (Juan Morgan, David McWilliams and Robert Pendergast) may be have been disposed of east of Adelaide but as far as a region goes, we cannot be more specific," he said.

"A search was conducted at the Ferries McDonald National Park, near Monarto in 1999, but nothing was located and that area could not be further advanced."

Strong Suspect in Riverland

A RIVERLAND man who cannot be identified for legal reasons may be one of South Australia’s most prolific serial killers.

Well-known to police because of his criminal activities during the past 25 years, he is being investigated for his possible involvement in the murder of four of his associates who vanished over a seven-year period in the 1990s.

While the man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has been the central figure in a police Major Crime Investigation Section investigation codenamed Operation Jarrah for some time, detectives have been unable to obtain crucial evidence needed to secure a breakthrough in the case.

The key suspect in the suspected murders was the ringleader of a group of men involved in a variety of crimes, including car theft and rebirthing, drug-dealing and importation, stolen goods property-related offences and standover tactics throughout the 1990s.

As part of the long-running investigation, detectives have seized several stolen cars, firearms, drugs and other stolen items.

The suspect has served time in prison in SA for drug offences and impeding another major investigation.

While the group is no longer involved in criminal activities together, the key suspect is still on police radar — and that of other criminals.

Several years ago, the suspect was severely bashed by members of the Finks bikie gang.

He suffered severe head injury and spent several months in rehabilitation at the Hampstead Centre. He was interviewed by detectives following that incident but, not surprisingly, provided no assistance to police.

--------------

Reading between the lines I think people could find the name of this suspect if they looked hard enough. Some of the info rings a bell and the method of at least one disappearance ties in with the alleged (story told to me personally) disposal of Steve Williams

There is an interesting discussion to be had over the sexism in policing and community atttitudes.

Police havent as yet charged her. If it was a male doing this he would have been charged and had an AVO against him

The difference?

They're investigating, no way she can get away without a charge they just might not have found her yet.

Firebomb attacks on homes and cars as Melbourne suburban crime war escalates

RELATED STORY: Hand grenade attack on Melbourne family signals escalation of gang war, police say
A series of firebombings have hit Melbourne's suburbs as part of an escalating gang war.

Properties linked to Mohammed Oueida, a significant organised crime figure who spends much of his time in the Middle East, were badly damaged in the fires.

Multiple cars were completely destroyed in the attacks, which took place in suburban streets in Melbourne's outer north.

Sources familiar with the firebombings believe they form part of a troubling new chapter in gang violence related to the drug trade.

Mr Oueida, who survived an assassination attempt last year, escaped the firebombings unscathed, but the two attacks in less than three weeks saw hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of property destroyed.

The firebombings underline that Mr Oueida, a high-priority target of federal authorities, is also being ruthlessly pursued by criminal elements.

Police believe both threats partially explain his reluctance to spend any significant period of time in Melbourne since he was released from prison in December, 2016.

Taskforce Echo detectives will investigate if the fires represent yet another flashpoint in the battle between factions aligned to Mr Oueida and the Tiba family, who were subject to a grenade attack last November.

A hand grenade has been used to target a notorious family in a troubling escalation of gang violence in Melbourne's north-west.

It is the first time a hand grenade explosion has been investigated in the state's history, Victoria Police believe, underlining the fears of senior officers that underworld figures are increasingly accessing military-grade weapons.
