Alex McEwan bashed her head in, someone he didn't even know, causing injuries so severe she drowned in her own blood because he "just felt like it" then dragged her body to Wickham Park. She was on her way to a cleaning job.

while our sudanese friends are getting all the crime publicity these drug selling pieces of s**t from the middle east are conducting business as usual. How low are these Lebanese that we rescue them from the desert and they repay us by getting kids hooked on drugs, the only good thing is they seem to enjoy shooting each other but not at the rate I would like.

Fire bombings and the hand grenade is a really bad turn imo, how would you feel living next door to it? I'd be furious, especially if I had little kids. I'd move out and send invoices for costs to the government, local council and the neighbour if just for the alarm factor.

With all the shootings particularly in Sydney and a grenade being lobbed in the suburbs, you have to ask how guns and military explosives are getting into the hands of these people?

This one is a bit 'there but for the grace of god' for me. I know the mother of this bloke a bit casually. She's a loving and I'm sure decent mum who's son just happened to be very disturbed and sometimes mentally ill. As the court has found he understood what he did and could have made different choices. I do feel for his family as victims as well.

Lot of people went missing / murdered hitchiking even up to the 90's, I haven't seen anyone thumbing for a ride for a long time now. Not even backpackers on the highways.
With respect to the notice put on the closed CSK thread by Chief ...

"Please note the suppression orders now in force - see the OP.
Mods will be removing posts containing identifying information and the names of the people have been put in the censor list.
I assume after the trial the suppression order will be lifted."

... besides the accused who are the other people that we are not allowed to name or use their initials? For example. Guy who posted with his name backwards? First wife?

It's hard to keep to a suppression order if you don't know who you are not supposed to be mentioning.

Wolf Creek actor John Jarratt has denied the allegation of a historical sexual assault in Sydney's east in the 1970s.

NSW Police allege Jarratt sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman at a house in Daintrey Place, Randwick in September 1976.

The woman reported the alleged incident to officers from the Eastern Beaches Police Area Command in December 2017 and investigation then began.

Jarratt, 66, was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for the alleged offence of rape.

The actor was first accused of the crime following the incident report last year, but has denied any involvement.

Speaking to a reporter today, Jarratt said the allegation was "ridiculous and untrue".

"It's fine, because I'm innocent," he said.

Dark humour is as old as Eupolis and Aristophanes in ancient Greece, it's a reprieve. When we can laugh at evil in all it's inglorious error, it is vanquished.

Laughing at black humour is a sign of high intelligence and researchers have also found that those who enjoy dark humour have lower levels of aggression.

Study:

Three distinctive groups emerged.

First were people who did not like black humour and did not understand the jokes very well. They were found to have an average intelligence and an average aggression score.

Second, the group of participants who had an average understanding of sick jokes but appreciated them the least were found to have an average IQ score but the highest marks for negative thoughts and aggression.

The third group liked and understood black humour the best and were found to be the most intelligent and least aggressive.

A senior New South Wales policeman has told a hearing he repeatedly told a Newcastle man accused of murdering an alleged home intruder to stop fighting with the man, amid fears he would die.

Benjamin Batterham, 35, is accused of killing Ricky Slater-Dickson over the 2016 Easter long weekend in the Newcastle suburb of Hamilton.

A committal hearing has got underway in Newcastle to determine if there was enough evidence for Mr Batterham to stand trial for murder.

Mr Batterham has alleged that Mr Slater-Dickson entered his Hamilton home and stole his wife's handbag.

Newcastle Local Court has been told that Mr Batterham chased Mr Slater-Dickson down the street and a struggle ensued.

The Crown alleged Mr Batterham crash tackled Mr Slater-Dickson and put him in a choke hold.

Mr Slater-Dickson lost consciousness and later died in hospital after his life support was turned off.

Caught in a routine stop after they were observed driving a tad erratically.

Former high-flying AFL player manager Angelos Papadopoulos, who represented Glen Jakovich and Dean Kemp in the 1990s, has been jailed for 11 years after he was caught with almost one kilogram of methylamphetamine contained in an environmentally friendly shopping bag.

Tip: Don't get caught with a commercial quantity of any drugs in Western Australia. In NSW $40 million street value and a manufacture charge will only get you 7 years and in progressive Victoria, 2 or 3 years off the minimum for using an environmentally friendly bag.

'Thoroughly evil' woman who killed to claim a mum's kids gets 30 years

Christine Lyons, 47, was in June found guilty of murder over the death of Samantha Kelly, who was bashed with a hammer by Lyons’ then partner, Peter Arthur, in a bungalow behind a house in the Bendigo suburb of Kangaroo Flat in January 2016.

Christine Lyons's then housemate, Ronald Lyons, was jailed on Thursday for 12 years and six months, to serve nine years before he is eligible for parole, for attempted murder and assisting an offender, related to him helping Arthur dispose of Ms Kelly's body.

Ronald Lyons, 46, was found not guilty of murder.

Arthur is serving a 22-year jail term after he pleaded guilty to murder in 2016.

He was given a sentencing discount because he was the key prosecution witness in the case against the Lyonses

Ronald and Christine Lyons aren’t related – although they were once in a relationship – but share the same surname because she was once married to his cousin.

Their trial heard they and Arthur agreed to drug Ms Kelly with prescription medicine between January 20 and 22, 2016 so that Christine could fulfil her dream of having children of her own.

Australian model's been found dead on a billionaire's super yacht in Greece. Investigators have taken over, they have to do an autopsy.

Sinead McNamara, 20, had been working on the Mayan Queen IV for the past four months before her sudden death on Friday.

The luxurious US$140 million, 92 metre yacht is owned by Mexican mining magnate Alberto Baillères, who is worth an estimated AU$9.6 billion.

According to local media, Mr Bailleres left the yacht, which was anchored off the island of Kefalonia, on Tuesday — leaving Ms McNamara alone with the crew. Her body was reportedly found on the back of the boat two days later.
