The plan was to house a couple of NRL Teams there and maybe an A-LeagueNot quite sure what you’re getting at, as I’m not familiar with Homebush, or the NRL.
last I heard they're pulling it down

No, not unless they want to tunnel under a few suburbs. Most likely they would do a spur line from the nearby busway instead. If that had simply been built as a rail line like it always should have been, we wouldn't have a problem, but this state doesn't do forward planning.Could a spur line be built? What would nearest line/existing station be?
It plays in our favour that the Olympics were held in China just 11 years ago. The IOC specifically the QLD government to bid on the 2032 Games so I think that shows we're a genuine chance to secure the rights to host it.I don't see Brisbane beating Shanghai anyway. The Chinese will spare no expense to create whatever they need to host again.
May be more cost effective to just have one side built as permanent and the other 3 sides as temporary structure that is ripped down. Then the track area could be used for anything oval or rectangle shaped. Might seem wasteful but saving dollars long term with upkeepWhat would an 80000 seat stadium be used for post the games?
seems wasteful

The USA held the Olympics in 1984 and again in 1996, 12 years apart. 24 years will be more than enough of a gap for the country with the world's biggest population, and by that point, the world's biggest economy too.It plays in our favour that the Olympics were held in China just 11 years ago. But that doesn't mean anything for Shanghai's chances. The USA had the Winter Olympics in 1980 and 2002.Beijing will host winter olympic games in 2022.
I did not imply that. Just stating the fact. But that doesn't mean anything for Shanghai's chances.
The state government are talking about building a 10-15,000 seat stadium/arena on the Gold Coast again but this time the plans include a retractable roof ala Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. What do we think? Personally I'd love to see it happen as I think it's something we're seriously missing on the Gold Coast. Unfortunately, Metricon is too big for a lot of these music acts and they'd prefer to perform in a 10-15k seat arena that's specifically designed for what they do. The article also mentions Owen Park in Southport and Pizzey Park in Miami as the frontrunner sites for this project. Tom Tate wants facility to be capable of hosting an Esports event too.
How would that occur it the ground is too small?bloody brilliant. Titans could threaten to move some home games there to get a better stadium deal. Be a great venue too for NRLW games when the Titans enter that.
Plus it would be ideal for when we return to the A-League and maybe the ABA (baseball too).
Plus like you said another Music Event Venue.

I’m talking playing field like is it an oval, or court?you could threaten to do it with the lower drawing teams

How do you expand the Convention CentreWouldn’t it be better to redevelop and expand the convention and exhibition Center? Probably cheaper and prime location
How do you expand the Convention Centre
In their wisdom they built it on a very limited parcel of land probably with a nudge nudge wink wink to the Casino
The only way is up at that location
