Re: Rohan conolly

Writer for The Age and also boundary rides for SEN.

Don't mind what he has to say - anti-Channel 7 like many on this forum.

Re: Rohan conolly

Why is the Carlton v Essendon game on a two hour delay into Perth on Saturday? Ridiculous, thought that we were going to get everything live except Friday nights. Disgrace of a channel, still disrespecting of the broadcast.

When the brodcast deal was announced they said Saturday arvo footy would be delayed. Stupid really.

Re: Rohan conolly

Matthew Lloyd isn't on any televised games for the next five years by the looks of it. Personally reckon he is brilliant in the media.

His honesty is very refreshing.

On a different note, "contested ball" is the 2012 version of "structures" in every player / coach interview and it's driving me crazy.

Yes. Last year we had 'clunking' which wasn't so bad, but this year it's 'toepoke'. I'm going to throw a brick thru the telly at some stage this year just because of that word.

12 hr wait for replay. Why?

Can someone enlighten me as to why you have to wit for 12 hrs to get replay AFL.com? Is it a foxtel thing? Only asking coz my DVR failed to record the Swans game and was looking forward to it after going to the game.

Re: 12 hr wait for replay. Why?

Why can't Fox Footy show multiple games like Fox Sports does for English soccer?

Rather than
13:45 Port Adelaide v North Melb - Premiere
16.30 Sydney v Melbourne - Premiere
19:30 Bulldogs v Gold Coast - Premiere
22:30 Essendon v Richmond - Premiere
01:00 Hawthorn v Fremantle - Premiere

Add Viewer's Choice games
13:45 Port Adelaide v North Melb - Premiere
+ RED BUTTON: Collingwood v Geelong
16.30 Sydney v Melbourne - Premiere
+ RED BUTTON: Collingwood v Geelong, Port Adelaide v North Melb
19:30 Bulldogs v Gold Coast - Premiere
+ RED BUTTON: Collingwood v Geelong, Port Adelaide v North Melb
+ RED BUTTON: Sydney v Melbourne

22:30 Essendon v Richmond - Premiere
+ RED BUTTON: Collingwood v Geelong, Port Adelaide v North Melb
+ RED BUTTON: Sydney v Melbourne, Bulldogs v Gold Coast

01:00 Hawthorn v Fremantle - Premiere
+ RED BUTTON: Port Adelaide v North Melb, Sydney v Melbourne

Re: 12 hr wait for replay. Why?

why the need to ask the same silly question in 2 different threads?

check the foxtel thread for the answers.

Re: 12 hr wait for replay. Why?

Why can't Fox Footy show multiple games like Fox Sports does for English soccer?

Because viewer's choice isn't HD (Not that the Seven games are being shown in HD anyway on Fox), plus the AFL would never allow it and Fox wouldn't want to either as less people would watch on viewer's choice as opposed to on Fox 1.

Re: 12 hr wait for replay. Why?

Is the work experience kid writing the captions for Footy Classified or something?

Clearances "per-game"?

"Carazzo"?

Re: 12 hr wait for replay. Why?

the whole Channel 7 gets exclusive access to the teams first on their news is a load of crap. they barely covered 1/3rd of the teams. For what they did cover, their news ticker at the bottom of the screen covered up half of the names of one of the teams.

Either have a proper league teams show (please don't!!!) or don't bother at all.

It is a joke. Don't even bother to tune in now. Just hop on the AFL website around the same time. Was way better last year when you could get the teams off the Internet at 5.00 and then Channel 10 would cover them properly at 5.40. Typical Channel 7 garbage.

Post Match Coverage Pathetic - Friday Night Football

I have just watched the Geelong v Bulldogs game on Seven and cannot believe how the post match coverage only focussed on Geelong and absolutely nothing from the Bulldogs ....... for the entire 40 minutes of coverage after the siren.

Immediately following the end of the game they interviewed Paul Chapman, then we got the Cats singing the song, later they crossed down to the rooms for an interview with Tom Hawkins, and they went to rooms a little later for an interview the the coach. They also crossed the Scotts post match media conference.

To make even more frustrating for a Bulldogs supporter they has to other segments with people who weren't even involved in tonight's game, Lenny Hayes from St Kilda and Guy McKenna from the Suns.

Surely they could have at least interviewed someone from the Bulldogs room to get their opinion on the game and how well they took it up to Geelong.

Channel Seven seemed to forget that there were actually two teams that played in the game and that supporters from BOTH club would have been watching the post match coverage. I just hate how the old hacks on the commentary teams are all from the pretty clubs and they dont give the Bulldogs supporters any enjoyment or encouragement whatsoever.

Re: Post Match Coverage Pathetic - Friday Night Football

That's true, but for the entire game, while play was going on they did carp on about how it's the Bullies Hall Of Fame night, stats about the team, how great it would be if they could beat Geelong.

Re: Post Match Coverage Pathetic - Friday Night Football

Winner takes all.
