Dare I say it...is the window open?
If we beat Richmond and Hawthorn we are sitting 4 - 1. After that we have.

Essendon
St Kilda
Gold Coast
Carlton

If we go into the Adelaide game in the NT 8 - 1 and full of confidence who knows?

After that its

Bulldogs
Collingwood

If we hit the bye round 11 - 1 or 10 - 2 you'd have to say its slightly open.

There's a lot of 'ifs' and I think the next 2 weeks are crazy important for the rest of our season.

I truly believe we can beat any team on our day. So if we make finals who knows what could happen. But I also don't have the confidence to go into a game against anyone saying we WILL DEFINITELY win this game.

We need to start enjoying the ride instead of thinking we are shit until we win a flag. It’s nice to finally have a side that’s a chance in every game and should win more than we lose. I’m still finding my MFCSS hard to shake too. I get way too stressed watching games. It all comes back to feeling that we are entitled to be a good side now after being shit for so long, and that as supporters we deserve a break. So as soon as anything less than that happens you feel cheated.

The psychology of a Melbourne supporter!

Been bleak for a long time.

Totally agree though, you gotta start letting yourself enjoy the ride or, dare I say it, the journey...

Given the back end we almost need to though.

Post bye

Port at AO
Saints at G
Freo in Darwin
Dogs at G
Geelong at KP
Crows at AO
Suns at G
Sydney at G
West Coast in Perth
GWS at G

Bloody tough.
Yuck ... at least they aren't all off the back of 6 days breaks ... although I'm sure the AFL were keen to have us play at 3.20pm on a Wednesday work day just because the schedule looks a little too easy.

Found this randomly and started laughing. But couldn't remember what Miller did this day to piss everyone off.

I remember that game, we came out and tried to go aggro on the Saints who had Riewoldt back in after a shoulder injury (This was 2005), they were comfortably better than us at the time and thumped us.

Yep, next week is a genuine test because I think if we are any good we should be beating Hawthorn who are in a quasi rebuilding phase
I think our run home is the real test and will determine if we even make finals. These early games against worse teams is critical to positioning ourselves for the back of the season. We make it though anything can happen as we've got the side to go all the way if things fall our way.

Geelong @ GMHBA
Adelaide @ AO
Gold Coast @ G
Sydney @ G
West Coast @ Optus
GWS @ MCG

Need to be beating at least one of the Sydney teams, one of Geelong and Adelaide, and both the ‘Coasts’. No point in limping into finals.

Ironically, the first win i would have put down was Crows at AO. We have done OK there in recent times.

EDIT: Stadium names these days. GHMBA Stadium. Seriously? If you're going to use an acronym surely it has to be something that is at least easy to say. I'd suggest no one is going to use that monstrosity, and people will just call it Kardinia Park. Thus negating the money they spent on the naming rights. Common sense is so out of fashion these days it just isn't even funny any more.
