Thanks for the welcome.

Here's a shameless plug for my website. I built it a couple weeks ago because I wanted more and more news about our club after a win - I added one RSS feed and then another and before I knew it, it had developed into this - https://www.myheartbeatstrue.com - have a look and let me know what you think. Also let me know if I'm missing a new source. There's nothing in it for me except knowing I'm sharing the Demon love. PS - Please share with Demon mates. PPS - I'm hoping the Copyright gods don't come down on me too hard. PPPS - It's all free.

That website is amazing.

Looking at the celebrations of the Dogs supporters at the whitten oval with for family day with 10s of thousands of fans. The tigs fans taking over the CBD for a couple days etc and **** this just feels unfair. All of us have a story, I'm no hope of getting home to see anything. Bloody unfair sometimes 😂

Yeah I wanna win it but it's looking like we won't even be able to spend the day with family and friends. Bloody sucks.

I’m [emoji817] confident the club will put on something massive for the fans even if it’s 2022 till we can gather outdoors together.

So there seems to be a perception growing that our backline can be exploited by small forwards when the ball hits the deck, and to an extent I can see the argument, with the biggest bags being kicked against us being kicked by smaller players. Key forwards on the other hand, haven't really hurt us.

My question: Is this an element of the game we're willing to concede a little as goals from forward contests aren't really that common? Or at least not a sustainable way to win games of football. We only conceded 5 marks inside our back 50, our tall defenders have always been happy to punch the ball if they're not confident they can win a marking contest. Thinking back to Goody's comments after the Dogs loss; that we weren't overly concerned about the goals from stoppages we conceded starts to make a bit more sense.

Also Cameron kicked three of his goals in the first quarter, one of which was simply from a shocking turnover by Rivers in the middle of the ground. I would argue that the first quarter was one of the worst quarters from our backline all year, but we were able to clean it up, and despite a couple more goals (one from a holding free) Cameron didn't trouble us too much after the first.

We definitely are. It makes a lot of sense - goals from those scenarios are fewer and farther between. Coupled with our propensity to keep opposition I50s to the pockets or 35m+ out it makes it really hard for the other side to score.

Yes Cameron kicked 5 but the other side of that is how few marks Brisbane were able to take.

It might be a bit harder against Port but it’s still the best way to prevent scores.

Not sure if this has been said or not. We need to keep Sam Weidman, Tom Mcdonald has had an ok year, he has had some pretty ordinary games. We have put alot of time and develpment in to Weidman and i think next year could be his year. Thoughts?

I’d guess sentiment on the board is running about 5-1 against Weid at this point.

Weid is in his 6th year and yet to cement his spot. Not sure how much more development he needs.

The reality is that if Weid wants to stay, we'll keep him for sure. 2 year extension around 300k, it's a no brainer.

But does he want to stay or go somewhere else where he is automatically best 22?

Obviously winning the whole thing would be incredible - but there certainly would be a lot of moments that would be filled with a tinge of 'what if' - for example, if we win and the GF is in Perth, who is presenting the cup? Normal times you'd suggest Ron Barassi or even Neale - but who is in Perth to do it. Garry Lyon?

. Injury interrupted season. Big guys take longer they say lol.
Yeah. I'd keep him. It's hard to find tall forwards who have developed their body for the role and he's in the right age bracket for us. Just needs to get some confidence. Hasn't been able to break into the senior side and hasn't had the chance to do much in the VFL this year, so his options have been limited.

Jordan Lewis said that he had seen a big improvement in him in the preseason before he got injured. Hopefully, we hold onto him and he gets a good run at it next season.

Get Nathan Jones to present the cup or something. Make him feel included

IDGAF who presents the cup as long as we win it. You could literally have it sitting on the grass for Max to pick up and I wouldn't care. I saw an older gentleman out walking today proudly wearing his MFC scarf, but you could feel the weight of the last 57 years on his shoulders when he started to talk.

I'll happily celebrate just as much as I would if it were in front of 100k at the G and I won't for a second think about everything that it's not, for everything that it is hasn't been ours for my entire lifetime
