Have a good feeling about Melksham after yesterday. Was a big reason for our fourth quarter assault. Obviously not a high pressure game but he got involved in a lot of scores as well as kicking three himself. If he gets back to his best that’s massive for our chances.

His defensive work needs to lift, but his kicking is just elite, especially inside 50, some his passes yesterday were just fantastic, and resulted in multiple goals. Hope he keeps improving.

Academy v FS a hell of a call. Four years away though, Kelani is 14 this year. Hopefully a bit of success at this end draws him south.

Was great hearing the four panellists on footy classified talk about how the pies-essendon game was actually the undercard to the real main event; being dees-tigs the night before.

Anzac eve game is growing in stature and also helps that both teams are firing. Even Jonesy said on On the Couch it was his favorite game to play in. Kudos on the club for fostering this game, it really is a gem.

After watching the replay, I changed my tune on him a bit. Did some really good things.

I know we see it more often now days, but I don't think we appreciate just how skilled it is kicking non preferred snaps on tight angles. Melksham picked up a dirty ball, had players coming at him, changed directions and kicked it with ease. 25 years ago that would have been talked about all week.

He also kicked a set shot drop punt from straight in front which I guess is the new toughest kick in footy.

I know he might say "he will make his own choices" etc but there would be no way he isn't fostering him towards Melbourne.
