5 HTB frees in the saints a cats game, 21 in our game. I don't like umpire bashing but they've clearly changed the rules 2 days later

I actually loved the umpiring in our game. 95% of the calls were absolutely justified

... I don’t want to be some kind of gross drought breaking fairytale flag like the Dogs or Richmond. Let us be a Geelong 2007-like force, a formality by the time finals even hit. I want other clubs to hate us and be desperate for us to not win it.
F it, lets go all Essendon 2000 mode on the comp.
They only dropped one game all year, aim high lads

West Coast can fu** off. My earliest Melbourne memory is us getting flogged by them.
mm aside from 186 it might actaully subconsciously be a reason I detest Geelong so (Besides the supporters)
an early memory i have is when Jeff white was Punted by Kent Kingsly out of the ruck. A Ruck tap gone awry
I can stillhear the click his jaw made when King's boot connected from the 4th stand next to the scoreboard

I don’t care at all about interstate teams, except the Swans who are a classy bunch and I have a soft spot for GWS/GC.
2 reasons i dont like GWS.
1 They had everything handed to them
A new club coming into a national comp will need some compensation to become competitive quicker.
2 Tom $Cully saga. I only like to support GWS for The hulk

After watching the replay of them all on 360, I reckon 16 were correct (about 13 were absolutely no doubt about it). Think they gots calls on Oliver (he kicked it), Lever and Salem wrong, there were a couple for the Blues which were the same.

The Saints v. Cats match was a farce though, there was a period of play in the 2nd where they simply refused to pay HTB. Go watch the replay from about 16 minutes left in the quarter. Geelong moved the ball down the wing with 2 throws and 2 instances of dropping the ball in about 25 seconds. No point in having rules if they're being so poorly interpreted.

It was Steven King, not Kent Kingsley.

Honestly I'd rather the line-ball ones to be paid then not paid. Keeps the game moving, relieves conjestion and players know if they get caught with the ball they're in trouble.

Did anyone see the segment about us on On the Couch? Had me absolutely buzzing, hard to believe they were talking about the Dees.
What Riewoldt said was fascinating especially since those Saints got within a ball bounce of winning the flag.

No doubt. But surely there’s some sort of ranking.

Myself? I would rank Geelong, WC, Hawks, and Richmond as the teams I dislike most.
Essendon number 1 for me. Similarly to Gysberts2Bate I knew a shit-tonne of Bombers fans growing up and there's obvs the 2000 grand final.
Then:
Collingwood - History
Hawthorn - Their supporters don't know misery like us. A Hawthorn supporter born the same year as me has seen their team win a flag every 4.2 years on average. I've seen none. They've won 12 since we last saluted.
St Kilda - People think we drink our own bathwater. What has St Kilda done? Plus two of my closer mates barrack for them and they took every opportunity to rub it in during the period where we couldn't beat them.
Carlton - Easily vying for us as the worst team of the last 20 years but they somehow act like they aren't.
Adelaide, PA, WCE, Freo - Dislike their victim mentality against everything Victorian
Brisbane, Sydney - Not as bad as the other interstaters
Dogs, Cats, Tigers - Family connections so always had a softer spot for them
North, GWS, GC - Hard to hate teams that you don't really think about at all

Was at trivia last night. We came fourth and when the announcer was doing the results he was like “sorry team, you didn’t win but that guy’s wearing a Melbourne beanie and they’re winning everything at the moment anyway”. Such a mundane thing but I’ve literally never experienced anything like that in my life. The bar is on the floor if you’re a Dees fan. I’m so ****ing glad this is happening this year and not last in lockdown.

My hatred of essendon actually comes a bit later around 2011 when bombers had a good start to the season the way their supporters talked up how good they were, always thought they were mediocre was a glorious win when we beat them on that Friday night to expose how overrated they were. The essendon of early 2000s yes were hateable but at least it was a decent team. The new crop coming through I don't mind. It's a bit like Geelong in their dominant period they just had such a great team but the current Geelong team just shit me. Had no beef with Richmond until recently, same with dogs. Was happy for them in 2016 but the way their supporters are carrying on recently is unbearable. Collingwood and Carlton don't seem to bother me, Carlton haven't achieved anything, I will usually barrack against Collingwood when they're good but I don't really buy the you have to hate the Pies. For some reason saints annoy me, I wish they got a premiership in that 09/10 period but the current saints team I just don't like. Generally don't care much about interstate teams except for West Coast. Earliest disappointment came in that 94 preliminary final. Good seeing Hawthorn spend time at the bottom, North I don't mind them.

Favourite teams list.
In order from favourite to least favourite.
1. Melbourne
2. Hawthorn (Frosty and family)

6 Freo (eh plus feel for fans)
7 Sydney (generally a good time)
8 Essendon (grew up watching Hird/Dons)
9 Doggies (close mates)
10 Carlton (close mates)
***SIGNIFICANT GAP - BELOW HERE ITS A HATE BATTLE**
11. Adelaide. The worst part of Melbourne stereotypes coupled with SANFL smugness. Just gross.
12. Geelong. Their shithole ground can get in the bin.
13. Collingwood. Go the duck away.
14. Richmond. See Collingwood plus add three flags.
15. St Kilda. Small man syndrome but make it a footy team.
16. West Coast. Perth is God’s gift to the middle of nowhere.
17. Norf. See Saints and add relocation.

*FIFTY FEET OF SHIT*

18. The Hawthorn Football Club. Never mind the merger bullshit. Never mind the insufferable attitude of their fans. No. The big one is I should have been a Hawthorn fan. Grandparents on both sides, while of mum’s family, heck even my mum is a Hawk. There’s a photo of me at about 3 years old in a Hawthorn scarf.

Dad couldn’t stand Hawthorn and changed to the Dees on the urging of his brother...in 1964.

I could have had 5 flags.

**** Hawthorn.
