These stats always feel a bit naff. The variance in averages end up being so small but a list and a best 22 are very different things. Like the core of Geelong's premiership team is probably an average age of 30 but looking at these stats you'd think their list could go on for at least half a decade.

Really all that matters is how old are ya best 10 players.
If the majority are 25+ you should be challenging for top 4.
If you're best 10 are majority under 25 then you're still building. The rest doesn't mean s**t

Hawthorn reminds me of melbourne circa 2009 based on those numbers, I reckon they are in for a few years of pain.

Don't remember him a lot, I noticed he only played 47 games for Melbourne which is a shame. Did a Google search and found this highlight reel.
Still remember that game, one of my favourite games from the 90s ( there wasn't many) beating the reining premiers round 1 then finishing bottom.

Ingo playing centre half forward. Wild.

Insanely talented. Never worked out why he dropped away so quickly - injury I assume.

Injury along with desire to play and be in Melbourne.

Thought he was gonna be great in 1994, was excellent against Carlton in the finals. Career fizzled out fast.
Kept breaking his hand.

Snapped hos leg at Carlton too from memory

Sean Charles, discuss.
Was good to watch when he first came in. Part of that really exciting forward line with Jakovich, Lyon etc.

I actually played a few games with him back in the early 2000s in a country league.

He was really quiet, but just oozed talent.

Two memories:
Running past him for a handball, only for him to put the jets on and just burst away leaving me in his dust (and i'm not slow)
A running barrel he kicked from the wing that bounced once in the square and went through for a goal

TIL my cousin works with Jake Spencer.
