That's rubbish mate, I've coached sport and it is no given that your players will do what you ask consistently.
I have the same problem on Madden15 on my PS4, Cam Newton never fumbles the ball on a simple QB sneak for one or two yards, yet when I'm coaching him on Madden what do you know?

I get no respect, NO RESPECT!

One day I'm going to get so sick of it that I'm going to trade his arse to Oakland just to prove a point.

A lot of the turnovers were from a lack of composure early in the game, which can't be blamed on fitness. Also Cross was doing his job taking intercept marks so why move him to Oxley.

If you watch Roos' presser there is a good line where he says - we kicked it in the air, the ball hit a boeing 747 and oxley still takes a uncontested mark. He was unhappy about our players inability to contest and also the fact that it was bombed so high to the top of the 50.

He was pretty bemused, so i highly doubt he is undermining the players to make himself look like a better coach. He has been protective of the players so far but i think he is starting to set public expections a little higher now that the effort is becoming (a bit) more consistent.
Also at the end of the game when the pressure ramped up and our structures fell down somewhat and the midfield reverted to blind bombing upfield.
A lot of the criticism has come against Roos saying that he had brought up Oxley being free in defence and to man up on him with people arguing that they couldn't see a player moved onto him. I think they missed the point that he's told the forwards Oxley is playing loose defender so man up on him as a unit.

I've also noticed a shift in his pressers from protecting the players to now putting the acid on them. Before, he would cut slack for the past emotional or mental damage but that's now become an acknowledgement of players weakness. If you can't get over the past then you have no future here.

Yep, noticed that not so subtle change in theme as well. Leave the kid gloves off - clearly a part of the list needs the shape up or ship out routine. Part of the reason we failed to contest those high balls has a fair bit to do with who we tend to populate the half forward flank positions with. Someone mentioned Grimes as a defensive half forward earlier - he's a smart player and reads the play, I can't see him leaving it to someone else to get those ball drops. Riley tries hard but doesn't seem to have much of a football brain, Watts is the opposite and who knows what goes on in the mind of Jimmy Toumpas...

Na, cut means he gets to choose where he goes next, id prefer sending him to Oakland myself, its the little messages you have to send your players to get their attention.

Nothing like a bit of "I own you" to put them back in their place!

Is Bernard Vince in career best form?
I was actually thinking this the other day, bet he kicked more goals in his bnf year at the crows but he is beating his man week in week out this year as well as getting the footy, I was a little frustrated early on in the year that he wasn't getting it enough but he has been brilliant lately

The Sylvia out then 21 ( or whatever ) for Vince is one of the better trade deals we have ever done

David Schwarz told a little story about Jack Viney when he was very young. I dunno if it's common knowledge, but..

Schwarz was at Todd's joint one day, and a few of the Melbourne guys were in Todd's outdoor spa. Jack wasn't allowed outside, but he really wanted to be out with his dad and his mates. So determined was he to get outside that he smashed a window with his head and crawled through.
Jeepers! :D

Averaging pretty much the same number of goals at 2009 (0.58 to 0.56). Averaging fewer disposals per game (27.5 to 21.5) but also 1.5 more tackles and 1 more clearance.

Guess if you factor the -6 disposals into the fact that he has held Pendles and Danger amongst a few then you could argue he is in career best form

Garlett has equaled Mitch Clarks 2012 number for the amount of goals kicked in 11 games. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Definitely deserves some more kudos.
Yeah I was gonna talk about him after the game but I forgot, he is doing a brilliant job for us and he can only get better, on track for 40 goals this year which is an absoloute steal for 2 junk picks

Just realised I ****** up that stat and tried to Stalin away my post

Garlett has kicked 20 goals in 10 games wheras Clark kicked 29 in 11. Garlett's inaccuracy in the first few rounds let him down.

This post goes into a bit more detail about accuracy

Its so funny because he has kicked some incredible goals and the majority of his missus have been bread and butter, should have kicked 25-28 goals this year which would be leading to a 50 goals season
Incredible

I immediately thought when I read your first post surely Garlett hasn't averaged 3 a game. Looked it up and he has 20.20. Second in AFL for behinds. As has been said, if he can tidy up his set shots no reason he can't be a 40 -50 goal small forward for us. It's bloody great to watch him running back into a Pagans paddock

It was interesting, after a lot of us thought Vince was being largely wasted as a tagger every week I heard him asked the other day why he is the designated tagger and he said with so many of the best onballers being tall, he was picked to tag because of his height!

Is it just me that think Garlett is a little gunshy in kicking for goal on the run? I think he's making a more concerted effort to run to point blank range than even kick from 15-20m out. I'm rapt with him so far. For what we gave up for him, he's been the best value recycled player in the league this year I reckon.

Happy for him to back his pace. If he knows he can outrun his opponent then why wouldn't he run into an open goal.

I couldn't believe Garlett was only 25 when i looked it up yesterday, i thought he was 27-28.

It makes the crazy Mick Malthouse's fire sale even crazier than i thought. What a bargain.

Am I the only one who is surprised to be reminded that TMac is 22? For some reason I thought he was 24.

Made me happy when I found out :rainbow::footy:
If I remind you that he is younger still do you get happier?

TMac is 19

Garlett is Gunshy kicking at goal in general this season, I bet over 50% of his missus have been from within 35m
