Look at the dogs. They have Tom Boyd taking up half of their salary cap and yet the rest of their players, players far more deserving than spud Boyd, have total buy in with the direction of the club and Luke Beverage as coach. As far as I'm aware, there aren't any news articles about any of their players delaying contract talks or trying to get a bigger piece of the pie, as they know that collectively they are capable of much bigger things.
I see the same promise at the dees, and yet it's frustrating as I don't think ALL of our players see this, or they just place a higher value on things other than team success. If the club, as reported in The Age, has put what they deem to be a more than reasonable offer to Tom McDonald that has subsequently been flatly rejected, then I do wonder what his priorities are in not trying to get the deal done. And of course he's entitled to get as much money out of the club as possible, even though there's probably a dozen players on our list just as deserving of the money he wants for himself.
