Do you know any history of politics! Labor has never left office with a surplus in the budget! Fact
So if Liberals are so bad at balancing the books, do they magically balance them self?
I pay my fair share of tax thanks & claim a fair shareThe sell off stuff, and under invest. Then pay off stooges like you
Anybody know what Hastie is playing at?
Curious, isn’t it? A parliamentarian gives a heads up to the spooks, but not to his own prime minister.
The timing was also curious. Julie Bishop had just wrapped up a lengthy bilateral meeting with her Chinese counterpart in Argentina, which was an effort to calm concerns in Beijing about the government’s foreign interference laws.

Something that no doubt contributes to your welfare cheque
The government once again standing up for the little people with Stuart Robert calling for GST to be scrapped for super yachts bought to use for charter.
Of course he hasn't been leaning - remember the photoshoot where he had a tea towel around his neck like a scarf? He obviously does so much drying of dishes he regularly leaves the tea towel dry from the furious speed of it all! Why else would he think it's OK to drape it over his shirt?Maybe Bananaby can give them a lecture about lifting and leaning. I hear hes been excused from what little work he probably wasnt doing anyway.
Dont think I dont sympathise, the depreciation on those things is horrific. its tough being a billionaire these days.
How ridiculous is this? The private sector decides that the return on a coal mine is not worth it anymore so the self described best managers of the economy decides to step in. Free marketeers my arse. The minister for trade, Steve Ciobo, overturned a ban on government-backed loans to domestic miners last year without consulting his department.
The controversial decision meant the federal government could start funding coalmining projects at a time when Australia’s major banks are increasingly distancing themselves from investing in coal.
These guys don't believe they are in a free market - but only due to leftist busybodies and social media scare campaigns. Therefore anything goes in balancing this dangerous socialist environment.https://www.theguardian.com/austral...mining-loan-ban-without-consulting-department

The Coalition has spent all of its time attacking unions, attacking Labor, attacking individuals who question their policy, and fostering division by ‘othering’ various groups in our community. Five years in and they still are looking for others to blame.
Where the government has capacity to use the law or funding, it attacks those who criticise it, subject it to scrutiny, or embarrass it by revealing misconduct. And it has done so in a systematic way, changing the law to give itself greater powers, making ambit claims in order to push through smaller increments of change, and using other legislation as cover for reforms to unrelated areas.
Country evolved from a police state in the first place
The Solomons Government had inked a deal with Huawei in late 2016 to consider constructing the cable, in a bid to improve the nation's often unreliable internet and phone services.
But the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) confirmed this year it would step in and foot most of the bill
This Government has an alarming track record of using investigations and legislation to attempt to silence its critics. Think the gag order on doctors and health professionals working in offshore detention and the Federal Police raid on the Australian Workers Union.
Eric Abetz and the hard right are behind these attacks — and we're squarely in their sights again. After directing the Electoral Commission to investigate GetUp, Senator Abetz has now called in the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
Under new espionage offences, a person – be it a journalist or just a concerned citizen – could be imprisoned for reporting on breaches of international humanitarian law by the Australian government in offshore detention facilities.
Protesters who temporarily blockade a railway to an export coal mine could face 20 years behind bars for “sabotage”. An aid worker who consults with, for instance, the UN refugee agency to develop a submission to a Parliamentary Commission could be found guilty of “foreign interference” and face 15 years behind bars.
I wonder how easy it will be to unscramble the omelette Dutton has made while Turnbull keeps dicing him up juicy slices in order to keep the RWNJs at bay?
Don't know. But interesting to see the Liberals proposing relaxing their demand for University-level English language requirements on citizenship. They now want Primary School level, and only for one member of the family, if my half-hearing on ABC Radio is correct.Did we ever find out the numbers when he knifed abbott ?
Either they jumped off him quicksmart or it was ( i suspect ) a con ( on us ) all along.
