He is actually making Tomic look like an angel, and who by the way I was very impressed with last night. Thought he had a real mature look about him....and no histrionics either.

TA could also deal with Mr tomic once and for all while they are at it.

Bernie said during the week he is trying to put all that other stuff aside and just get on with his tennis. Hope he can, and his career isn't ruined like young Jelena Dokics was.

Seems I spoke to soon. Incredible outburst from Bernie after his match the other night!

I agree that Bernie's funding should be cut now that he is earning good money......but not his sister Sara. She is still struggling along.

One thing I did find odd, is that Bernie (and others I guess) has to pay to use any TA courts to practice. That doesn't seem right to me.

Now there are calls to sack him from TA and the Davis Cup....

What a mess.

Just hope NickK doesn't get involved and pull out in support of his mate.........apparently said if Bernie doesn't play, he won't either.

AFL in damage control...now TA.

Its all happening in the world of sport

geez didn't know this existed,

Bit disapointed with how the media has painted Bernard and how TA has reacted.

Im friends with quite a few younger tennis players who are trying to crack the big time, they recieve very minimal funding from TA, Bernard made a good point, where is the accountability for how all this money is spent and allocated?

dont think he was asking for funding from TA hes ranked in the top 30s and can well support himself, but is asking for a little respect for TA for him and his family, being forced to pay for court time and balls, just sounds really petty no other countries would do that to their top ranked players, you think Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal or Andy Murray pay for simple court use back home?

if someone else raised this besides Bernard we would be all for calling a review into the practices of TA

Also anyone noted how convinient Alex McKinnon's attack on Cameron Smith comes, two days out from the series decider, very disapointed in him and how low NSW can go

I've had a few doubts about Pat Rafter for a while.....he seems to like having pot shots at players that in turn make him look good.

He did it with the Poo as well.

Even John Newcombe said he likes to call the shots and is his own man..

'We all had a go at Lleyton Hewitt but his outbursts were to himself, not to the officials,' she said.
Yes, but did you tell him to "go back to where their fathers, or their parents came from. We don't need them here in this country to act like that", Dawn?

Didn't think I'd be on Team Kyrgios when I got up this morning.

Poor old Dawnie forgets that she caused an absolute outrage back in her day as an Olympian and was sent home from the Olympics.

..incredibly mild by todays standards, but in the day it was big big news and shocked the world.

She climbed over the Japanese Embassy fence, and up the flagpole and stole their flag that was flying proudly......while representing Australia in the Olympics. A huge furore followed. She ended up being banned from all international sport for 10 years for misconduct...

Her comments today were going well until she said her little piece about living arrangements etc....Of all people, not sure though that Dawn was the one they should've focused on for a comment. Seemed a tad hypocritical. Dawn loved to shock in her younger days.

..but back to young Nick....he is a disgrace and owes a lot of people here and at Wimbledon an apology for his behavior. Deserves all fines coming his way..

Just hope though, that someone can get through his thick head that he cannot carry on like that, and to pull his head in and keep his foul mouth shut...

..or his career will go down the gurgler too..

Love the Ashes. Really looking forward to this series. While I'm confident that Australia has the better side and would comfortably win if the series was held anywhere else, I think English conditions will make for a much more even contest.

English batting could be diamonds or rocks - Bell, Cook, Stokes have all had successes against Australia and Root is a class batsman. They also will bat deep if Ali is the spinner. Buttler has something about him too. Having said that, I don't think their batting has the weight of runs in recent years that we have with Rogers, Warner, Smith. Still some question marks over the Aussie batting and we've seen a reliance on the lower order to get us out of trouble. That's not ideal. We also fail regularly against the moving ball (spin, seam or swing) and chances are Anderson will hoop it around at some point. It is going to be fascinating to see how the techniques of Warner and Smith stand up against that. Love Voges and Rogers in the side though - so much experience in these conditions.

On recent records, our bowling is superior but, again, English conditions even things up. It is not unusual for young fast bowlers to struggle on their first trip to England and the likes of Starc, Hazelwood and Cummins don't have long county careers to rely on. Lyon has been taken to in the lead up matches but no spinner shows their wares before the tests start.

Going to be fascinating. I'm quietly confident of a series win but 2-2 wouldn't surprise.

People will claim the criticism is "Tall poppy syndrome", but sometimes poppies stand up, waving there arms saying "Hey, I'm an awesome ******* poppy. Give me my poppy rewards", before they've earned them.

I think this Ashes series will be much closer than many are tipping. A few late nights coming up over the next weeks!

The change to the Duke ball will play havoc with our batsmen who do not have the technique for playing the swinging ball and bowlers who prefer to use bounce and conventional ball movement. Australia's biggest advantage is our superior tail batting and the class of Smith, Warner and Clarke. However with most Test Matches the team who bowls best will win the series, and an attack of Johnson, Lyon and Starc in English conditions does not fill me with much confidence. Hazelwood is probably the key bowler for us to ensure we keep it tight and take wickets. Wouldn't surprise me if the series is tied 1-1 with some weather affected draws and dull lifeless pitches.

One major disappointment is having to suffer the channel 9 commentary team. Bad enough we have to cop it every summer but the away tests are supposed to be our relief from their cheer leading buffoonery.

Hoping he gets some counselling now he is home.
Such a talent. Be a shame if he doesn't reach his full potential.
Just can't control his emotions.

Would love a highly respected TA person or someone close to them eg John Newcombe or Todd Woodbridge, even Lleyton to have a video of all his tantrums from different matches put together, then make him sit down and watch them...

...and ask him if he thinks its a good look. Not the reasons WHY he threw the tantrums, but the LOOK of the tantrums......and if he was proud to be seen carrying on like that in front of the world.

..because these tantrums are why you are being criticised Nick.......keep doing them, it will be your downfall.

So we asked the tail to pull us out of the fire yet again:rolleyes:. Not surprising that eventually they couldn't. Watsons failure was always on the cards, he just cannot deliver in big Test Matches. However, to be fair the entire top order should take a look at their dismissals. Aussies not handling the English conditions well at all. I expect England to press home their advantage now and win this one comfortably.

Gee I hope not, consistently provides entertainment :D
Pressingly I prefer my entertainment in the form of runs. Won't be shocked if he does runs in a fruitless chase and retains his place. He's a master at padding stats when it doesn't matter. Hibernation they chose him over marsh for his more reliable bowling there should be no reason to keep him
