I'm not sure whose bright idea it was to put numbers on the test shirts, but I'm just gonna go ahead and assume Gil was on a tour of the CA offices and just kept popping into meeting rooms and shouting "Hey, shirt numbers" until it happened.

Ben Stokes. Unbelievable.

That botched review however... the urn would be ours otherwise... such a waste.
That was just beyond ridiculous. And yup, right in the arse a few balls later. Predictable. We need to have a serious think about how we use our reviews.

Yep, watched it all unfold, THE most ridiculous decision to review I have seen in a Test Match by Tim Paine, how he couldn't see it pitched way outside leg is beyond me. Cost Australia the Test and could cost them the Ashes by the end of the series. However why the umpire didn't give it out is beyond unbelievable.

The missed regulation run out by Nathan Lyon was also diabolical.

Fantastic Test Match however and probably the best Test match turning innings I have seen from Ben Stokes, similar impact to Ian Botham at the same ground many moons ago.

The Australians seemed very gracious in defeat though which would have been hard after such a shattering loss, we always seem to lose the cliffhanger Tests. Tim Paine was very good in the after match interview with Mike Atherton, put it all in perspective. They have lost a game of cricket, nothing more in the grand scheme of things.

This is what happens when you play somebody in the team as a specialist good bloke.

Tim Paine is a worst bat than pat Cummins and has been coasting by on his captaincy which was shown up last night. Just terrible in a pressure situation.

Ultimately his legacy will be losing our first ever series to India at home and blowing our best chance in at least a decade to win the ashes in England.

Cricket Australia's over reaction to the ball tampering saga continues to hurt us.
