Carlton should go out and get an experienced ruckman like a Dean Brogan or Jeff White. Someone who can fill the void whilst Kreuzer and Hampson develop. We have been smashed in the ruck all year, and we need someone in there very quickly.

Such a friggin' pity that Ackland cannot stand up at AFL level.

Get a clue mate - would you still be complaining if we had kicked another goal yesterday?

I was one of the many that had bagged Russell for his first lot of games but he had a reasonable game yesterday and has been a marked improver.

Bannister has been good this year but was has been very average over the last couple, Hadley has had one good game and Hoops??? (even though I feel he's in our best 22 you can't take away from the fact that ever since he has been out we seem to be performing pretty well - would've thought he'd be on shaky ground should he not step it up till years end)

Did you actually go to the game yesterday?

Um yes... had we kicked another goal it still wouldn't change the flaws these blokes have, and the fact they are not up too AFL standard. They are all temporary solutions because we have no one else.

If anyone thinks in the year 2011 Russell, Bentick, Carrazzo and Cloke will be in the best 22 are dreaming.

And as i have said before it wasn't just yesterday, and it wasn't the fact we lost. It has been all season with the same blokes, whether we beat collingwood, whether we beat the Eagles, whether we lost to brisbane or whether we lost to Sydney.

It's simple they haven't improved individually, whilst the team as impoved as a whole.

Hell, even wiggins has shown more this season than Russell has. wiggins presents well and took some strong grabs yesterday, done a hell of alot more than Russell.

Whilst i applaud bentick and Russells heart and commitent, their guts and detremination they simply do not have it, they will still be on the list next year but it won't be long before they are weeded out after having far too many chances and oppurtunity.

And yes my freind ryan Houlhain offers a hell of alot more than Jordan Russell does. Any one who disagrees with that is naive, blind and just plain silly. Whilst hoops lacks the defensive skills that Russell possess, this is compensated 10-fold by Hoops offensive work compared to Jordans

That's exactly it, I think we need Dean in our team. See what the experienced Chris Judd did for our midfield? Use that as an indication as to what Dean could teach our boys. Give it a punt. :thumbsu:

Wiggins has been at the club for how long and has shown not very much. Started off well but made some critical mistakes in second half (like many others) so still not convinced he is a long termer.

Like I said, I still believe Hoops is in Carlton's best 22.

As for Russell - anybody who knows me will tell you I am not his greatedt fan but the facts are that his game has improved in 2008 and he is holding his own. Did a couple of good things yesterday and I know FOR A FACT that he is highly rated at the club so not matter what you or I think - he is here to stay for a few years yet.

Jordan Russell will be at the club forever.
He's going to play 250 games.
He's going to stay on as an assistant coach.
He's going to be the mentor to our young brigade in 7 years.
He's going to coach Carlton to their 26th premiership in 2026.
He's winning the Norm Smith in 2011.
He's winning the Brownlow in 2010.
He wouldn't mind a Coleman.
He's partial to spicy mayonaisse and chilli dogs.
Jordan Russell is part of a complete breakfast.

The list goes on...

Actually, it doens't. But I love making lists.

Jordan Russell has such an enormous upside that he'll never be dropped. In fact, 2009 will be the year Jordy breaks out of mediocrity and ascends like a phoenix rising from the ashes that is 2008, to take his place as king of the Carlton mountain.

Guaranteed.

Are you insane????

Russell and Bentick are not up to AFL standard. Both did SFA yesterday and for 90% of the season.

Carrots, Fisher and Cloke should be the 18-24th players picked int he side.

This is incorrect - Bentick has played 12 games - 4 Good 5 Serviceable 3 Poor = > 50% (not 10%). He does however need another Good this week :)
