Was regarded as the best Full Back in the SANFL last year and this year but has been on 2 AFL list in recent years and didn't make it so its hard to say this time will be any different if he makes it or not but u only have to look at Rampe and what he did to get to the top level.

In fairness, his stints at AFL level had him playing as a forward/ruck. He's not yet been given a chance to play as a KPD at AFL level.

JG, we can all speculate, but we really don't know what the club will do. FWITW I trust my clubs recruiters to make the right choices, not always right, but we are now a powerhouse of the AFL. What pisses me off is the constant posting of our players for trade on BF and then our posters who cant help themselves being sucked in.

In the draft I would like to get a couple of the following:

(N.B. Given there are players that are likely to go in the top 10 (Boyd, Aish, Sharenberg, Kelly, Billings, Acres etc I have put together this list based on those that “may” slide to at least our first pick)

1. Darcy Gardiner - KPD depth and from all reports a good defender which we need for our ageing defence
2. Nathan Freeman - super quick midfielder/forward which will add speed to the squad
3. Kade Kolodjashnij - Tall utility player who could play in various areas of the ground
4. Rory Lobb - Ruck Depth
5. Marcus Bontempelli – Forward or inside outside mid (possibly on the wing) . Reportedly “could” (and that is a big could) turn into a Jobe Watson type player with a big body.
6. Jonathan Marsh – Can play forward defence or mid. Excellent speed and good height. Marsh could very well be a top ten pick though
EDIT: Thorp removed... thanks for the heads up ... I could have sworn Thorp was playing ruck when he played at Hawthorn. He is listed as a forward now... my bad :)

Given the cap on rotations in the next year or two the price of utility players will be valued quite highly IMO (as it is starting to be now)

With our new look forward line, we need speed and skill to really hurt opposition by moving the ball quickly into the forward line... Freeman should be a high priority

imagine if we could get Freeman (or any other player that has elite speed) and he turns out to be an at least decent AFL player for the Swans... That would mean in a couple of years (given development of younger players) we would have the likes of Rohan, Jetta, Freeman, B.Jack, Towers, Cunningham who all have good to elite speed.

Gone from the so-called "ugly ducklings" to a team with speed to burn.
