Windy has always been good to me and I respect him. But how long have Lauderdale been saying it's their year? Every year we hear in the press how good they are looking. Yet never really giving anyone any trouble.

Its a matter of who else will do a better job? They consistently perform to their level each year, they are the only team in the comp to have made the last 5 finals series, they have lost the last two semi's by 7 and 3 points, each year with major injuries, he took over when they were near on the bottom, has done a great job not only with the team but promoting the club and the competition.

Promotion of the club & game through intimation of thuggery & violence is nothing to be proud of. Its short term attention seeking but will cause damage to the club & competition in the longer term.
You clearly dont understand that, Pity.

Your too precious and you clearly have some sort of axe to grind with him, every time he says boo you get on your high horse and start dribbling all this nonsense, your opinions are rubbish to me on this subject.

I commented when he called for a blood bath. If you or Lauderdale are happy with that sort of dinosaur behavior from your senior coach, then you have no idea.

Top 5 will end up a carbon copy of last year. Would have thought season 2016 may have had at least one positional change but not to be.
I was surprised how easily Burnie beat North Launceton. Lauderdale fell in, Devonport won comfortably. NHCFC won a tough affair quite well. The young players have improved this year.
I guess the biggest disappointment would have to be Clarence. Spending a fortune on Callinan, sacking a coach mid stream, then being allowed to pick up Siggins, made no difference to them.
Kingston need to buy some experience. Trying to bash & crash their way to success wont work. You just get hurt yourself. Their young guys need some experience along side of them. Launceston can at least look for ward to their coach being allowed to play next year. That certainly hurt them this year.
Obviously Glenorchy are favorites. Maybe North Launy will get their act together for the finals. Burnie may try to be 'physical' to win it. Lauderdale too. I dont think Devonport have improved enough to beat the others in the final 5.
Anyway one more round & finals begin.

Really dislike how we have a 2 game round as lead into finals.

Just another example of the mismanagement of football by AFLTas. The attempted destruction of South Launceston so that AFLTas could do an AFL & 'create' a new club at Prospect. Just dumb. The AFL have money to set up GWS & GC. AFLTas couldnt even organise their own holidays, let alone set up club from scratch. Dumb, really dumb.

It was beyond 'dumb' and a moment in TSL history that may never be understood as I doubt it has any rational explanation. Show's how little respect they had for their own product as they trashed it when they facilitated their premier to be booted out of the competition.

The money spent on Western Storm/Prospect Hawks one would guess would easily have kept South Launceston afloat? To have your reining premiers just disappear certainly IMO devalued the competition. To then be replaced by a Ntfa div 2 team based on population analysis from the ABS, another "Fine Mess" the old AFL Tas lot created and left burning on the stove for the new crew to deal with.

I see that Wade now wants to resurrect Sandy Bay footy club, While Shaun Young has managed the Canberra Demons to the bottom of the NEAFL ladder. Good arent they. ;)

Looking back at last 3 years, hard to fathom how it all was allowed to unfold in the manner it was. Hopefully new brass can recover the competition and restore peoples faith, trust and respect.

Wade lost me in one of his final interviews where he said the only error they made was going to WST brand initially and not Prospect str8 away as it would have worked. Just shows how out of touch he was in the end.

Good news is the new brass seem good operators so lets hope they thrive and get the competition to its right place as the premier competition on and off the field.

I suppose now Scott retired (or semi being General Manager of Australian Masters Games surely would not be full time?) he's having people like Bill Sorell get in his ear, my question is can the Hobart City Council Area support another Senior Football side? I guess that Sandy Bay would want to be part of the SFL just take players from Hobart and Hutchins in the old scholars would be my guess. Plus gee whizz they been gone for over 20 years might as well bring back Lefroy and Cananore and raise "Stumpy Westall" from the grave. Maybe you can resurrect a football club after a few years but twenty??? Were would they play do not Hutchins School own Queenborough Oval?

Shaun Young gets to see the other side of the Fence at Clubland won't hurt him, amazing once you reach a certain level of administration management in organisations you seem green lighted to get head hunted no matter how BAD or good you performed in your last position.

I'm not sure Tassie footy can afford any club to be a basket case, bordering or not. Not after the Western Prospect Stormhawk debacle.
I dont think we have any choice.
I still think a better resourced 8 team comp would have been better. 9 is silly & will benefit the north of the state with only 4 teams.

How does it benefit North of state?
Its clearly going to benefit North Launceston and Launceston as the talent in the region will only be split between two teams not three. That is obvious. It wont make any difference to the coastal teams. There has been a lot of discussion as to whether Launceston can support 3 teams. Im not sure if it can but I do think only 2 teams in Launceston is giving them a better mix than the other two regions in terms of population ratio per team.
