Its a surprise to me the number of players leaving the TSL clubs for the lower leagues in the south of the state. If it is anything like up here in the North and North West the amount of money being thrown around is incredible. Players being offered $1000 or more a game is not too uncommon and I really don't know where some of the clubs are getting the money from. It's hard to see how how AFL Tas can have any control over this. The points system applies in both the NWFL and NTFA but that only controls the number of players any club can recruit, it doesn't control how much they can pay their prize recruits. There is a salary cap in the NWFL but not the NTFA and it seems because of this some good NWFL players have been recruited to NTFA clubs in recent times. The points system cant be cheated on but nobody can guarantee that with the salary cap system.
