Confirmed NH president leaving in paper today.
He also said he’s choosing the next coach before he leaves…
In the note to North Hobart members, it said that a selection panel will be making a call on the coach. Martin isn't on the panel.

Hope the board follows him out the door.

Clubs a joke and has been for 20 years.

Having had all the natural advantages of good facilities, an inner city position, access to private school kids, two good junior clubs, lots of local small businesses, a very long & successful history. The last 20 years have been a terrible disappointment.

One wonders how it all got to this.

I think when you say the board should follow him out the door, you/we forget they are all volunteers. Its so hard to get people who want to put the time in to footy/sports clubs. Also every one can be an armchair expert.

Craig Martin came on to help resurrect the name of the club from Hobart City & start the process of fixing the debt left behind after the TSL interference. The push to amalgamate with Hobart, the name change which disaffected so many supporters, the TSL people on the board who were good at spending money & useless at making any.

So they started at a low ebb.

Martin also championed the TSL when the AFLTas seemed not to GAF about football, except for sucking up to the AFL leaches.

Its a thankless task to work to help any club. Its easier if they're having some on field success. Its the grind underneath of trying to generate finances, to do more with less. It does get tough on the volunteers.

I don't know what the finances at TSL clubs are like, but I'd suggest none would be in clover. I'd a;so suggest It wouldn't be for lack of trying

Another one from Launie gone, Jett Maloney confirmed to Longford. Leading goal kicker of dev league comp would be a starter at all other senior TSL sides. Did play a handful of senior games.

Seen some of the old footy talk on previous pages. Out of curiosity, does anyone have an idea of the old TANFL zones? I know Hobart had left of the bridge, up the eastern shore at one stage.

New Norfolk had the entire ODFA.

In the old Huon league, Sandy Bay had Kingston and Channel.
North Hobart had Cygnet, not sure of the other Huon teams

New Norfolk had the entire ODFA.

For years New Norfolk drew a lot of players from up the Derwent valley. A lot of farms & rural industry. There were many footy clubs, which have all disappeared as the rural population has declined over the last 50 years.

Its that rural decline which has hurt our football as much as anything else. City folk have other sporting & lifestyle options. Country sports clubs are the social glue of small towns & rural areas.

From memory, not 100% sure but pretty certain, Hobart had ties with Franklin and or Kermandie.
In the city the club had close alignments with Lindisfarne and Risdon Vale in the TFL days.

Updated. Tigers lose one but gain one.

Still no recruits for Pies or Demons who need them.

This will be TSL club #3 for Baker I think after previously being at North Hobart and Lauderdale won’t it?

The silence over coaching candidates for North Hobart has been deafening and concerning. Devine a better coaching option than President option for mine with his Devils experience.

Glenorchy announced their new recruit on Facebook last night, 196cm bloke from Vic named Dominic Phillips I think it was. Here’s hoping they’ve got a few more coming along for theirs and the league’s sake.

Updated with Kamaric gone to Brighton

Can anyone shed some light on why Kamaric has left Glenorchy? Seems weird letting their best player go when they need A grade talent on their list.
May not have had a choice.

If he isn't contracted, they couldn't hold him for long.
