Yeah well he used to play frees as well as a senior player things like that irk me with the leadership issues we have had for sometime now.
Those last couple of years of his used to frustrate the hell out of me, the amount of times he could have marked the ball but instead he was waving his arms around trying to get a free kick

In all seriousness it would not matter who has been our midfield coach, we don't have the A Grade mids to implement it.
Agree Cox would be better served being our ruck coach but you have to understand that part of the process of being an assistant coach is learning to become possibly a head coach one day and that means you need to work in all areas of the game plan over a period of time.

A good coach can at least reduce the dominance of an opponent. Cox hasn't been able to do that in any game, bar the Geelong clash.

I agree and that has not happened, even simple stuff like losing two centre clearances in a row you man up and simply make sure your opponent does not get it. They are so hell bent on their own plans that they forget the basics and just accept getting smashed instead of actually doing anything about in the game it is happening.

If that's the criteria we should get Scott Cummings in as his assistant
Stewie Dew to head footballs fat four. How lethal would we be with him in the big chair and

Derek Kickett- Midfield
Scott Cummings- Forwards
Brian Lake- Backs

Coxy can stick around as a ruck coach I guess cause he did blow up a little bit for 2014 and has really bought into the big and tall lifestyle post career.

So, if you had a football brain you wouldn't be celebrating a goal until you were sure? eg. Ballas, Yeo...
Elliott plays better at half back when the game is in front of him and can concentrate on only two things at the one time. Would like to see him succeed in the midfield but I don't think he has the "smarts" or concentration to play there at a consistently high level. I do not doubt his ability or courage.
Jacko was a great footballer and is possibly 5 points up on him on the IQ chart.
Just my opinion ... cheers.
Mmm not sure about that,

Says the only assistant guaranteed to be there next year is Mitchell
At least we now know the wheels are turning. Thank Christ!

Longmuir to be replaced by a relevant, hard-nosed, footy-smart, strong football presence...someone that can communicate well, gets in and around the boys, has a positive and energetic demeanour and someone who can freely offer opinions and proactive, actionable advice and openly support the head coach and playing group.

An experienced director of coaching wouldn't go amiss either!

Get it DONE!

Personally first one gone from my point of view. Don't like players walking into coaching positions at the same club at which they played without any time elapsed. Too close to the playing group to be objective IMO.
I saw Darren Glass at City Beach last week coaching his girls Auskick team, reckon that's enough of an apprenticeship to take over???

It mattered in 2015.
Made a big difference.
