Geoff Austen 1980

Hi All,
Does anybody know where Geoff Austen played in 1980?. I know he played with Collingwood in 1979 and 1981, but 1980 seems to draw a blank. Maybe he just played reserves for the pies or was injured, or both. I know he had a Collingwood footy card in 1980.

It's a bit of a strange one! I've been in touch with a couple of people at the club (history dept.), and while no-one knows precisely why he did this, it seems he retired prior to the season commencing, and so was removed from the playing list:

Perhaps it was for work purposes, or he travelled that year, but I could find nothing with a reasonable search of The Age (on Newspapers.com). Obviously he returned to Collingwood in 1981.
