I think furio will win on saturday. Furio gets a 8.5 kgs weight and with barrier three should get to the rail with inform jockey stephen baster and i think should be to good for them. As some of you may know i rate this horse very highly and think he is a staying horse with a future.

i watched this horse in its 1st ever start and it was a 2yr old maiden at warrnambool, i think he came 2nd.

its great that you tipped him last start and won some money but dont get attached to horses like this fella when betting. i fall into the trap and i bet everyone else do's when you back a winner then keep following it.

remember who he is up against on saturday. furio will need every bit of that 8.5kg drop too threaten any of these gallopers in the sandown classic!!!
good luck betting on him saturday, you will get healthy odds.

well put fullta. Nothing wrong with following a horse you like, but it's not more likely to win just because you backed it last start.

Furio won't be winning this week. I'll happily eat humble pie if he does, but i'm pretty sure he won't.

Yes, he was very impressive the other day but he wasn't up against any Australian Cup or Mackinnon Stakes winners. Also, that race was over 1800, and when he ran over 2200 the start before he didn't look anywhere near as impressive (beaten by Who's Ya Daddy, who is a Class 1 horse).
And yes, he has a big pull in the weights but he'll need every ounce of that and then some more. I know Count Ricardo won this race as a 3yo, but he was going a lot better than Furio when he did.

Casual Pass to stamp his class on the race IMO (providing Nash doesn't take him via the carpark again).

You obviously don't know what your talking about mate. The reason i back Furio last start was because he was unlucky and i thought should have won at Geelong.Furio tomorrow will show you guys what im talking about. You can only beat what your up against and Furio won by three with 58kgs lenghts.49.5 kgs , barrier three and a inform jockey steven baster please!!
You seriously thing Roman arch has a chance tomorrow your dreaming. Causal pass won't win just because you won on it in the yalamba dosn't mean it will win now. Furio will win and win easy.

I'll back the class WFA performer every day of the week, and I'll be right 99 times out of 100.

The owners obviously didn't think Furio could beat a bunch of 3 year olds over a staying trip in the Derby, so how is it gonna beat some of these, even with 49.5?

And it sounds like you'd back a broomstick if Baster was riding it. Yes, he's a good jockey but so are most of the others riding in the race. He's not gonna add the 6+ lengths Furio will need to improve to win this race.

You are right about one thing though, I don't think Roman Arch will win, but an Australian Cup is an Australian Cup. Come and talk to me when Furio wins his first Group 1.

Here we go again, the "its so well weighted" line.

Spring 3yo's at WFA need every ounce.
This is a new race so its hard to say on history but he's a Testa Rossa.
I certainly doubt him at 2400,especially in a GP2,albeit an average one.

He was good at Flemington but the 2nd horse is $51 against 3yo's tomorrow.
He might be a star but IMO he'll need to be.

I think Roman Arch is well past it.

Wasn't it bought very cheaply by a bunch of footy players last year after the owners presumed it had had its day, and then it came out & scored a big Group 1 victory?

The owners should have retired it then. "Flogging a dead horse" springs to mind. The poor old thing is 9 years old and rising and it ran its Indian summer last season. Let it go.

The bloody minded old beast will now make me eat my words tomorrow by winning by 5 lengths:)

He just won connections $20,000 for his 5th in the Mackinnon stakes, so I don't know if they'll be too eager to retire him just yet. He's 8 but I'd think he's past it, too. Having said that, he'll probably come out and win tomorrow.

i have studyed the form and i believe saddlers story is a better chance then furio and i will be taking the current odds which i believe are unders.

saddlers story wasnt suited by dropping back to 1800m last start after his eye catching peformance in the geelong classic, and should relish the step up to 2400m.

in saying all this, im never a fan of betting on 3yr olds in wfa events, but i believe saddlers story is a good chance with many of the older horses being at the end of there preparation.
my selections

1. brom felinity
2. casual pass
3. gallant guru (s.arnold is the right jockey to overcome the wide gate)

and a small e.w wager on saddlers story..

The reason i said it was good that stephen baster was on it as when there is a 49.5 horse running you usually get a in-experienced jockey on it.

Maybe the reason they didn't go to the derby was because there was some horse called effient in it. Any way I would say at geelong furio should have won by a 1 - 2 lenghts and gorky park won the race and the run second in the derby.
People are talking about 3 yo form line.As i see it furio would have run second in the derby . A few years ago Count ricardo came second in the derby and won the race.

Furio is honest & consistent,Gp 2 Open class winner?
I guess we'll soon know.

I really hope they werent scared out of the Derby by one horse.
After all,2nd in the Derby was $270k,3x what it got for winning Oaks Day.

Plenty of jocks can ride 49.5,its 46.5 they struggle at.
PS:Count Ricardo ran 3rd in the Derby

Had every living hope,Baster had to wait for the horse in the last 250m.
Good result, promising horse beats WFA horse & consistent horse 3rd.

I dont see him bagging you,it was a discussion.
You said "Furio will win & win easily"
Its still running

You also bagged Roman Arch which missed 3rd by a lip.
I know who was closer,(C Pass $2 place) despite neither finding the winner.
Relax

seth it doesn't matter who was closer the fact is he is what one the carpet snake and you did not tip the winner and you guys saying smart ass comments such as "still running.. i guess the half a kilo really cost him. why this there a need to say that after both of us got our tip wrong?

I didnt tip anything.Just commented on the 3yo in WFA races scenario.

You declared a horse that ran 9th & bagged a guy who tipped the 2nd horse.
The first antagonistic comment in this thread came from you:
"You obviously dont know what youre talking about mate"

If you start it,its fairly likely you'll get some back, especially if youre that far off the mark.Im sure he would have said well done if it had won.
I would have too.

If you know anything about me,you will know I dont tip thoroughbreds.
Happy to be involved in tipping comps here for fun, thats it though.
I dont pretend to know more than others, just share opinions.
Ive been into it for a long time, listen or dont, doesnt worry me really.

If my opinions are wrong,Ill wear it.
So far Ive declared 3 horses that couldnt win in the majors this Spring.
None won.
Worked it out yet?

If you want to know about harness racing, lets talk.
If you can find time, being such a "pretty wealthy bussinessman"
