Get Thorp

I doubt it. We all know what Judd went for, so you are saying that for a bloke who has yet to debut (I think), who has spent 2 years in the AFL would go for almost the same deal as Judd. Yeah right.

Hawthorn can hope all they like, but it Thorp wants to move because he can see himself getting more game time at another club, Hawthorn does 1 of 2 things:

Trade him for the best deal possible

Or lose him in PSD

Remember, Hawthorn don't hold all the cards here should he decide to leave, it's all the other 15 clubs.

Did you read my post at all. If you did, you would understand why I put such a high asking price on him. He has steadfastly said he loves hawthorn and has no desire to go any where alse. The only reason he has not been playing (and yes he has debuted already) is because he is coming back from hip surgery. He has been playing in the backline for Box Hill so Hawthorn would have no need to trade him due to a glut of forwards. He doesn't want to go, the club doesn't want him to go, so if another club made a play for him Hawthorn could demand well above market value because they are not under any pressure to make a deal.

Could i just take a moment to thank the Collingwood football club for giving us players like Hotton (who was a very serviceable player) and Scotland (who would be better than most at pieland) and Cloke who is currently in better form than Josh Fraser the worst number 1 pick in history.

and as a side note another huge thank you for being our bitches and letting us bend you over in every grand final we ever played in .:D

As for Thorpe, there is no way i want our club to trade a first round pick for an injury riddled young player .

Heath Scotland better than most at Pieland is the best joke I have heard since the comedy festival as for Cloke being in better form than Josh I forgot which one played in the Dreamtime game? and on that matter didn't see your #1 pick in that game, did see Pendles though. Next time you see Cameron tell him I said thanks, even though i had to watch his joke of an effort for 2 years at Collingwood it was worth it to get Trav. If your lucky we will give you Egan next year

I went to school with Mitch Thorp, he was a year below me. He never played school footy cuz it was "below him" apparently. Watched him play a couple of times. He's good and loaded with potential. I never liked him much at school because he always acted like a douche, because he knew he was good and gonna get drafted. Having saying that, I would gladly have his talents and be where he is right now.

As for a trade, When I did see him play, he played like Kennedy did against us for the Eagles. One thing that lets him down IMO, was his kicking. 3 of 4 shots would either be a point or not make the distance.
I don't know if he has improved this aspect of his game.
I saw him play for Box Hill on ABC last season. Lead well, but kicking let him down.
As for injuries, he is not injury prone or injury riddled. The only injury i ever saw him have was right before the draft.
After that, I know he was injured at the start of last season, but since then i'm not so sure.

Although I "disliked" him, I would like to see him be given a chance, either that be with Hawthorn or us. But I fail to see why we would have to give a top 3 pick, given he is not proven at this level. A late top 10 (8-10).
I think he was drafted at 8??.

I would rather see Luke Jericho be traded to us.

Also Mitch lives down the street from me. I see him with his Hawk buddies from time to time. I don't think he would want to leave.

Every individual makes a decision as to what is best for themselves, your comments about Thorp loving Hawthorn, well he may enjoy the place however if he and his management felt his career would benefit by moving to another club for more opportunties do not kid yourself that he would act in his own best interests.

As for a club paying over the odds highly unlikely for a player that his reputation is based purely on potential and under 18 footy.

I'm not saying he is worth a top pick + a player, i'm saying that is what the club could demand. If he doesn't wan't to leave and the club doesn't really wan't to lose him then they can demand a much higher price becasue they are not desperate for a trade.

That is very much true.

Do you think you could desist from bleating over how every player just LOVES Hawthorn and never wants to leave and wants his ashes scattered either at Liberal Party HQ or Waverley Park (the historic home of the Hawks).

No-one cares about your puerile attempts at maintaining this ridiculous myth of being the little family club made good. The family club that has bred some of the greatest thugs in the history of the game.

Go away. Win your flag as circa 1991 and piss off back to Arctic Park. I believe your gayboy gym-of-mirrors out there is situated right where The Kenneth Luke Stand used to be. Now that's Paid up, Passionate and Priceless. :thumbsu::)

So you went to school in Launceston then ?

Lol yeh and we send our duds (Cameron Cloke) to you.

By the way Chris Bryan would be pushing first ruck in your team on current form
Yeah, like Scotland?

Cloke is a better play than Bryan, I'd take Cloke over Bryan anyday of the week.

On Current form? You mean those 2 games that he has played for the year? pffft hardly anything to go by.

Yes I did read your post, and if you think a top 10 pick and a good young player is a fair trade then you are dreaming mate. Nowhere in your first post did you say that he loves Hawthorn. And lets be honest, if you offer a young player a greater chance of playng at AFL level, you'd have to look at it.

If not saying that he'll leave, or even we'll make an offer. But your trade scenario is way over the top.

Why wouldn't a player want to leave if at the moment he is playing in the VFL and it doesn't look like he will be in the Hawthorn side for a while?

Surely the Hawthorn Football club and Thorp himself will see that perhaps a trade will be a positive for both parties. He gets to play AFL and Hawthorn get compensated.

......and here I was reading your post in the Gibbs thread where you tell me how objective you can be........

Bryan would be ahead of Ackland which puts him out of the reserves and into the seniors.

The uniform is read with a white Ant on it.:thumbsu:

Bryan is behind Cloke (who on form, had he stayed at the Pies would have got a Big V jumper), Kreuzer and Hampson. Hence we ditched him, along with a long line of players who leave our club to do very little.
Hamill, Campo, Massie (prob the best), Allan, Murphey (twice), Bryan...........we don't let good players go.;)

But keep pumping up Bryan......while you remain unimpressed with Gibbs.:o:D
