Well we are the 3am girl of the competition. Would take at least 15 pots to want to jump on board for the ride.

Sydney, Brisbane, Carlton, Melbourne, WC, Adelaide, Geelong, Hawthorn, Essendon & Fremantle. Whats the one thing each of these sides has in common? They all appointed virgin coaches as their new head coach. Perhaps its time we did that same thing instead of boosting another old coachs retirement fund. Bring in a young coach on $250-350k per season for 2-3 years. Give them permission to clean out the dead wood and replace it with kids. Then if they get results you offer them a new deal. Its worked for most of those clubs listed above, no reason it can't work for us either.

So what young upcoming virgin are you going to get for that job.

So he cleans out the deadwood and replaces with more kids, we win 6 games in 2010, 7 games in 2011, COACH SACKED. Fans (ferral at that) will expect nothing less than finals in first year and he will be forced to play deadwood to survive. We have gone no-where

No sorry. As much as we all hate the idea the best option is to retain Wallace and continue to build on the current list, take the pressure off playing finals or bust and allow the kids time. Geelong and Hawthorn didn't hit their straps till 2007 (we finished above them both in 2006) when most of thier list was in early to mid 20's. In a couple of years our players will be mid 20's 100 games under belt and we will be away.

Stay on course or all of this pain we are feeling now will continue and this will all be for nothing.

I'm sick of this Hardwick stuff. So what if he was a 'hard' player. Big f'n deal.

We all thought Giesch was gonna be our saviour after that game at Princes Park when he moved the huddle over in front of the cheer squad. Turned out he was a dud and we chewed him up and spat him out.

The Spud was even more incompetent but we kept him for 5 years just to prove a point.

Getting a new coach will fail within 18 months unless he gets us a 70% win rate. The same people here advocating a change in coach will be agitating for change again so we can get someone else 'hard'. And don't forget the short term drafting that the coach will resort to so that he can shore up his coaching reputation (because if he fails he will never coach another club, and he only has 18 months to perform a miracle).

I am totally against getting a 'virgin' coach - he will be destroyed by the ferals no matter who he is.

Only a coach with a reputation and charisma to stare down the ferals and factions will be able to do it. Whether this is Wallace or Malthouse or Sheedy or Matthews, I don't know. But getting a 'virgin' has been done before at Tigerland and every time since 1982 it has ended in tears.

For every new coach who succeeds (Clarkson, Worsfold, Roos) there are half-a-dozen who dont (Frawley, Rhode, Schwab. Connolly, Drum, Daniher, Northey, Ayres, Wallace, Eade, Thomas) just off the top of my head in the last 5-6 years. Plenty of 'hard bastards', 'no nonsense' characters there. Its the nature of the beast - 1 winner, 15 losers every year.

I still say get a proven coach who knows what it takes to win a flag - we have no 'winning culture' down at Richmond - we need to bring it in. Sure, we might get lucky with the next Clarkson or Roos - but at least if we pick a proven winner, we remove one area of contention.

So, my choices (in order) - Matthews, Williams, Malthouse, Sheedy - depending on who's available. I think Pagan was damaged too much at Carlton, and was really a product of a perfect coaching set-up, having coached most of the North Players from U19s upwards.

If we can't get any of those 4, the next choice is assistant coach from (in order) Hawthorn, Geelong, Eagles, Swans. Yep, recently associated with success.

True and even though many of us rate him as a complete fool he still has a better win% than Wallace has albeit 0.5% better.

That's like saying Hitler was a successful leader because he won many battles - yet you fail to acknowledge that both left a trail of disaster behind them.

Couldn't agree more When Malthouse resigns or is sacked Bucks will be a faster appointment then Voss and that was fast

Appoint Malthouse for 2 years ONLY and on the provisio that he finds and grooms a virgin to take over then offer him paid match committee status for following yrs

GET AT ANY PRICE

1. Neil Balme to be footy Manager. He has seen how the best do it this century!

2. FIND Royce Hart!!!!...make him head of selection committee and ask him to get Francis Bourke on side for match day rev ups.
(Yes the Dogs sacked Royce as a failure...but that was coz they were too weak and gutless to do the hard work he demanded and learnt from Haffey)


THEN when your lot finally sings consistently ....."like the tigers of old we are strong and were bold"...There will be Balme Hart Sheedy Bourke Malthouse.... GRINNING at the edge of the circle!

YOU LOT have lost your mojo as a club!!!! Why because YOU FANS to are too eager to praise the odd inconsistent performance andpandertoover inflated egos.....instead of demanding a CONSTANT CAN DO ,WILL DO IT, ATTITUDE!

Well....all the MORE REASON...to have him around the club... except you lot would need to recruit a MUCH BETTER medical department to help him get off the turps! The current dills would ask him "is he sure he is ok to drink another 6pack!?"

The best player with the most footy smarts ...I have ever seen.... STILL!
