Getting a CHF over summer

McKinley would be great get, terrific off the lead, great hands, straight shooter. Should compliment Fevola ideally.

We do need to draft the best half forward possible. The Talk is Jack Watts, kicked 5 again for Vic Metro on the weekend, supposedly, along with Hurley, the best KPP prospect in the draft. However he's firming into a top 5 pick so he might escape us. I would love to get Ziebell, think of a mix of Aaron Hamill and Dale Thomas. That would suit us alot.

I think the CHB point is a good one. Austin seems to be showing ALOT at the moment, so if he can nail that in the next couple of years, Waite at CHF is the best option.

No, it is simple!

Dont worry about getting players from other clubs, develop and PLAY are our own.

Couldnt believe Edwards got dropped when he did earlier in the season. Must persevere with Hartlett and Edwards and play them.

So the next time we loose well have everyone blaming those two .. i can just see it happening

Jack Watts is in yr 11 this year. he is still eligible for this draft though and wants to nominate this year so he doesn't end up in queensland. this means that he'll get drafted this year but complete year 12 like has been done in the past with Goddard i think. not saying this is a reason not to take him of course, just letting you know. he is a great guy too but yeah will probably end up going before we have a chance:(

Agree J. Hansen is a dud :thumbsd:

Murphy will be on our target list as there has been whispers he wants out.

What about Carlos? Can we develop him into a CHF?

No. Carlos has been tried there and he isn't suited to playing that role. Besides, he's finding his feet down back and doing a pretty good job most weeks, so there is no point in moving him into the forward line.

If we are to look from within our list, besides the obvious choice in Hartlett if he can keep his body right, the other option is Waite. He's shown that he can play there and would really be a perfect fit. This is why the development of the likes of Austin is absolutely imperative. If Aussie keeps developing and can make it down back, we have enough strenth when fully fit (Aussie, Setanta, Jamison, Thornton and Bower) to be able to be at least competitive down back, which is when Waite can be moved into the forward line.

If we're stretched, we can bring in Harts and then send Waitey back again for a game or more.

However, as I said, I think we need to have a serious look at Ryan Murphy, and I think that we will.

Hope Harts can get promoted and play well but would be nice to have someone ready now just to let Austin develop for another year or 2. Tim Boyle form the Dawks would be the other obvious choice, but what is his contract status

Target Mckinley, debut Austin this week, throw waite chf.

Betts,waite,fisher
Mckinley,fev,Resting ruckman

or.........
Get some other Chf in r.murphy, m.thorp, m.brown
+ liked the idea of waite playing the richo role on the wing.
throw waite on the wing

Play Hartlett at CHF for the rest of they year to see if he's up to it. If not, blood Austin at CHB and throw Waite up forward again.

Finally some sense. :thumbsu:

Whoever is suggesting that carlos should be tried at CHF is dreaming.

CHF is one of/ if not the hardest position to play.

You need size as well as an AFL brain. Carlos has size but not an AFL brain.

Hartlett was drafted to fill this position and needs to be given an opportunity to do so. Austin should come in this week, and let Waite run with Richo wherever he goes.

Edwards will never be a key position player as he isn't tall enough and goes missing way too much.

Options are Hartlett and Hartlett alone.

We might if he remained injury free.

I've mentioned this before on this board, but McKinley is not even close to being big enough to play at CHF. He's only 184cm, to put that in perspective, Waters is 4cm taller than him and Embley is 6cm taller.

That's a name that was being thrown around last year as a possible inclusion to the carlton team.

Handy wouldn't he be?;)

Well, if you believed the rumours from last year, he would have already been a blue by now. They were all rubbish and he's playing some very good football at WC.

And when he goes down again?

I'm all in favour of bringing in Austin and pushing Waite forward though........for this week.

Send Waite back again for Riewoldt. ;)

Funny......I seem to remember some rumours last year about another WCE midfielder coming to Vic that were dismissed as rubbish at the time.........can't remember his name, I'm sure you know who I mean.

I think its now or never for Harltett he needs to be given time in the 1's now.

Well the rumours about Embley were rubbish, he didn't leave. I'm sure there will be some fresh rumours about him at the end of this year. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I think most WC supporters knew Judd was going to leave at some point. I personally thought he was going to sign on for another 3 years then go back to Victoria at age 27/28. Can't complain though, he was with us for 6 years, our first Brownlow medalist, captained us to a Premiership, won a Norm Smith and played some stunning football for WC. We also got some good kids in return, so it could have been worse.

Yeah you do fare well.

120 points against Geelong shows how well you did fare.

I've tried to be respectful on your board, I don't think any of my posts in this thread have been out of line. Not sure why you're having a dig at me?

Anyway, your post doesn't make much sense, the kids we got in the Judd trade (Masten, Kennedy, Notte) all didn't play on the weekend against Geelong. Masten and Kennedy are injured and Notte isn't ready yet.

JK is always injured.

JK is always injured.

Cotchin > Kreuzer; Kreuzer < Putt; Cotchin, McMahon, Morton, Rance > Judd; Judd's bad Health, injuries (There are alot :thumbsu: ;) > All players used / players not wanting to be traded in Judd trade; Josh Kennedy > Hartlett, Bower, Thornton, and any CHF prospect the booze have :thumbsu: :).

Good luck with Judd's injuries Booze. The Tank was well worth it! :thumbsu: ;)

Three duds with no 1 picks. Instead of tanking for draft picks, the booze actually have tanked for daft pricks.
