So whose heading to Falls this year? Just got a email saying you'll get a full refund if caught with alcohol

It's gotta be a bluff right, they'd be turning away 50% of people. And the other 50% would be really good liars and hiding-their-drink's-ers.

Falls lineup definitely lacks the star factor but there's a number of 'smaller' acts I'm getting into like Just a Gent, Generik, Broods. The first night looks a lot of fun too with Client Liasion, North East, Grandmaster Flash and Hot Dub.

Alison Wonderland, Violent Soho and Tkay are good enough for me though. I'm sure the Avalanches will put on a good show as well.

On topic for a second, we found a part of the boot which comes apart with some pretty decent sized hollow spaces above the wheels. Fits back together and covers up perfectly as well. Pretty much set now.

OHS, aka the fun police have taken a lot of the fun out of gigs. When I first started going to them it was really no parents, no rules. Now they try to stop you sparking one up in a open air arena ffs.

This is why I'm a fan of bush doofs. Much more chill and completely BYO :D Music doesn't stop either.

Anyone hear stories of people being turned around and given refunds?
Got to the entry and was asked if we wanted to declare any booze. Said no and none of our cars got checked. They didn't seem to be checking much at all this year compared to last probably due to space and weather.

Was told our ticket would be refunded if excess amounts of booze were found.

Just scaremongering once again I think.

Yeah our convoy of 8 cars got through without even being asked if we had anything

bump

Certainly plan on using a few of these tactics this summer

Reckon straight bottles are the way to go, not only smaller but the problem with chilling slabs and I don’t like warm beers.

Probs will put them in the spare tyre and put everything on top.

Hot tip that'll probably be the first place they look. Find a hollow space in the car or chuck them in your sleeping bag/tent. They rarely pull those apart.

Seeing my post from a friend couple years ago is funny. Generik and just a gent got cancelled due to the 'crowd crush' and the first night started a long love affair with client liaison who I've seen like 5 times now.

Also they barely looked for stuff. It really just depends who's doing it and what mood they're in.

People not being allowed to bring in their own drinks/pay $12.50 for each of them means more people are doing drugs as an easier and quicker and inexpensive option. Another example of regular people being blamed for a situation they're forced into. I don't think anyone wants to double drop four nights in a row or have a comedown on Saturday...

Met a woman at the airport she was smashed and so were her friends.
She hid everything in sunscreen, lotion, shampoo, you name it if it was a bottle it was full of booze.
Was spraying vodka into everyones mouth from a sunscreen bottle.
Told me she did it when ever she travelled
Got through customs both ends

She wasnt young about late 40s or early 50s.

When I went to Falls in 2011 i took bottles of water, ran the caps under hot water so i could get them off without breaking the seal.
Replaced the water with various clear spirits, then replaced the caps.
Made sure I marked the bottles so if I actually wanted water, I didnt start chugging vodka
Put pictures on facebook asking people to pick the water and not one person did, then didn't get searched.
Was fun to do though

Don't understand this. Airports are the one place you can be sloshed at 6am and no one will bat an eyelid. Why bother smuggling?

I think it was a hobby and she was making it an affordable hobby.
Cheap booze so she didnt have to pay for it on a plane or on holiday in an expensive booze country.

Wouldnt surprise me if moonshining was involved, pretty common in rural Qld.
