Well, very dissapointing. Might not be over but its as close to over as you can possibly be.

Weve played without confidence, skill or brains all day so far. Geelong have been loose everywhere, free players all over the ground and annoyingly particularly in the forward line. If only Geelong kicked straighter we'd be 100 points down and thats not an exxageration.

The major difference is the forward line. our defenders have been ****ing awful. Surj, Chaplin, Pettigrew, Wakelin and specifically P Burg have all made terrible errors. Their forward line has had a field day. On the other hand, Tredrea has played well so far and thats it.

Ebert - 3 touches
Lade - 5 touches
Motlop - 2 touches
Rodan - 3 touches
Westhoff - 3 touches

compared to:

N Ablett - 3 touches 2 goals
Chapman - 10 touches 2 goals
Johnson - 14 touches 3 goals (BOG)
Mooney - 7 touches 1 goal
Stokes - 13 touches

Big big difference.

We need a huge lift from the Burgoynes, Westhoff, Rodan, Ebert and Motlop if we are to save face let alone win the match.

So so poor.

Can only hope we - at the very least - really just go back to one on one footy and make a contest of it for the last half. Too many Cats players getting uncontested footy all over the ground.

The Cats are playing great footy, going to be very tough to do IMO.

Cats are moving the ball on at all costs, when possible kicking long to the hot sopts in their forward 50, checking very tight when we have the ball, everything we are not at present.

Very disappoining show from the players & coaching staff at this point IMO.

Come on guys, we are so much better than that.

Lots of people will point to the effort to make it to the GF, but I think we have embarrassed ourselves so far. We were a rabble pretty much after ten minutes into the first quarter. We knew Geelong were awesome, and they have been brilliant, but we have played our worst game for the year. What a shellacking like this does to our group, I don't know. No-one has stood up. I feel devastated but was worried as the week went on that Williams' bravado in front of the cameras was a last ditch effort to unsettle a team he knew was much better than us.

Right now, Collingwood's effort last week looks very meritorious.

Hi guys, i"m a pies supporter and i"ve been barracking for Geelong ( only because they are vics.) & they look to good for your boys, but i reckon port have been bloody r*ped by the umpires , specially in the 1st quater. going for port for rest of game.. GO PORT

We've just been poor, simple as that. So often we've tried the 10-handballs-in-30-seconds option and it's come undone almost every time.

Some damaging stats that Geelong is thrashing us in - long kicks (36-20), effective kicks (95-56), hard ball gets (27-15) and inside 50s (33-20).

In the first quarter, Port had seven clanger disposals to Geelong's zero, It's now 13-3 at half time (6-1 by hand).

Between Ebert, Rodan, Westhoff and Motlop, they've had three effective disposals total, one mark and only one behind.

Overall Port's winning the clearances 18-15 but it means little when you're turning it over so often going forward.

Everything has been miserable. This is disgraceful. No other word for it.

The players that have taken to the field today have disgraced the Port Adelaide jum per. There is not one player that is putting in a 100 percent effort. Soft effort:(

The only thing that I can take comfort in is that I have not wasted hundreds of dollars going to the game when the players are playing with no heart.

I have no hesitation in saying that I would rather have lost the Prelim last week the way the Kangas did, than serve up this performance today.

It has been made worse by Williams' confidence all week. Our players may not recover from this for a long, long time.

In all seriousness (and I'm not being a smartarse or firing cheap shots), you guys are a pretty good young team, but you've been flattered by a year when the best teams have been smashed by injuries.

West Coast & Adelaide, even Sydney and St Kilda to an extent.

Also flattered North Melbourne, Collingwood & Hawthorn - all good sides, but not Premiership (or top 4) quality.

I agree King Elvis. We have been flattered by a great run by injury, opponents etc. A competitive showing today would have been the most we could hope for in retrospect.

Which is going to make it hurt more for you guys than it probably should.

If you look at the season in the right context, you've had a good year and, assuming today doesn't scar too badly, will serve you well.

Exactly. This is just disgraceful and the effort or lack of there of will open the club up to further criticism by the media etc. Geelong are a far better team and have shown this, but we are a much better team than the pitiful performance we have displayed today.

I thought the Burgers have played with some heart. Same with the Cornes' and Tredrea. The rest have been miserable. Our defense hasn't been good, but you can't level too much blame on them considering how much bsll that has been coming in there.
