Maybe it could be in a 60K stadium and they could just not give 40k tickets to corporates. Works out the same. When the other states have a 100k+ seat stadium, sure.
Relevance?
Playing Devils advocate.
American sports which has vastly greater numbers and finances involved play at different venues
25k and currently a couple of hundred metres away is ANZ with 90k, fully seated. And they all have huge stadiums. Imagine a grand final in front of only 24k at Spotless stadium
Which is nobodies home ground so it's irrelevant and may as well be kept at the G.25k and currently a couple of hundred metres away is ANZ with 90k, fully seated.
But keep it at the G
Read what I said, why not take yes for an answer?Which is nobodies home ground so it's irrelevant and may as well be kept at the G.
I'm sorry, I misinterpreted what you meant.Read what I said, why not take yes for an answer?
And no one will care. The day they move the Grand Final to another city is the day I stop watching.
All.good, easy to assume interstaters from a new club aren't traditionalists. I guess for us the yravel if and when we get there will be part.of the experience.I'm sorry, I misinterpreted what you meant.
When the other states have a 100k+ seat stadium, sure.
This is one tradition that will not go....not in our lifetime, if ever. Its about as enshrined a tradition as the Pope being based in the Vatican (I know centuries ago the Pope lived elsewhere)But alot of rules are being broken and tradition is going
Not complaining. Just saying with changes coming like Twilight GF and Good Friday games eventually it will happen
I can understand non Melbourne teams wanting a home ground GF
If it was an Adelaide v port grand final, 100% should be played at Adelaide oval
"Needs to be such and such a size" is a bullshit excuse when the current venue gives most of the tickets to the MCC and AFL Members.

What's the theoretical capacity? There is still some grassed area I notice that presumably could be standing room if required? If it was an Adelaide v port grand final, 100% should be played at Adelaide oval
Yep, but take away MCG grand final seating rights and MCC member numbers would take a hammering. So many other vested interests would oppose a move interstate too.MCC and AFL Members are footy supporters and a lot of the time club members as well.
And they all have huge stadiums. Imagine a grand final in front of only 24k at Spotless stadium
So the NFL should play all Super Bowls in Dallas then? When the other states have a 100k+ seat stadium, sure.
