If George can get to the Suns and we can get one their second round picks. That's a win for everyone.
I know he is still getting a good wage and footy is still fun even if you're not playing seniors. But maybe if George had have not chosen to go in the draft he'd be batting for Australia. Not sure how he goes against a moving ball. But if he can last more than a handful of overs he'd be in the Australian top order.
No need to be greedy I'd do it for pick 40 or a future 3rd rounder. Or an upgrade of our 2nd rounder to a higher 2nd rounder,
If we are after picks an upgrade is probably not a bad option... Brisbane's R3 for one of their mid range R2's eg.Port Adelaide's is about P27 , maybe Richmonds P24? something like P24 <> GHS + P38

Too slow between wickets in the age of ODI's and T20..

We might have to give them a future pick, a 3rd rounder in this years draft might be worthless to them which is why I think pick 40 would be more likely.

They have some later picks as well I'd be happy for any of their picks for GHS tbh.
They have 46 and 53 or something like that. Would trade him for both of those.

We can give them a few package deal options

H-S +
- Smedts or
- Murdoch or
- Luxford or

Maybe they'd be interested in a few of our defenders as well - Delaney, etc.

I would try sending george and picks 35 38 and our 3rd rounder next year for 24 and 41. They might even throw 59 back to us if they arent going to use it. Either way isnt a bad deal for them and if richmond wont take 24 for deledio they are silly. Assuming they are silly it gives us our first pick early enough that we may get a crack at a decent kpf which we need.

At least george is contracted so it gives us some hand in what we get.

It's a pretty complicated deal for a fringe player. Our future 3rd is pretty close in value to a future 4th and it still leaves them with a couple of third rounders that they need to get rid of or risk not using the picks ( they have more then enough points as it is)

On a personal preference I don't like turning 4 pieces into 2. Though it is really 3 into 1 which is even worse.

Wouldn't surprise me if WCE and especially after Simpsons press conference comments of lack of ruck division, that they take a look at Vardy. A long shot would be looking at Clarke if he gets delisted which I hope is not the case

They might want another cheap option like Vardy that could still play with Nic Nat in the team. Clark is done there's no way he'll play at another club.
After retiring this was his last chance at Geelong. But again he's hardly played and it seems footy isn't his main concern.
You have to do what makes you happy and what you need to in life. And I can understand his decision to not play footy over the last few weeks. But to me that's also making a decision that your time is up.

I still think Lang will be a gun.
I think so too. His performances at AFL and VFL level have been a bit more promising this year - it's just the depth that is keeping him out. He - along with Bews - should plan on being the number one beneficiaries should Jimmy hang up the boots as expected this year.

I truly hope so.

And I certainly can't see him missing out on an AFL career due to a lack of talent.

I'm confident he has all the tools, and simply needs the mindset to go with all that.

This year has hopefully been a gigantic wake-up call about what's going to be required to play regular senior footy.

Looking back at the highlights from round 1 Against the Hawks. Lang and Gregson played well and combined for some late goals. I think they'll both be very good players for a long time for Geelong.

Agree about Clarke. I think Geelong will keep him on as insurance, whether that is a rookie or not will be played out. It would be a smart move by Geelong to be able to get him on our list via the rookie draft as I don't think any other team will take a punt on him. He proved to me during the year that he still has skill for a big man and warrants one more year.

If there is a year to on trade talls this is the year. They are in such demand, hopefully we could get a higher pick than normal for someone like Vardy.

It's always a good year for talls but I don't think we will get that much for Vardy. It's interesting he's named as an emergency for tonight.
Clark is done I very much doubt he'd be put on the rookie list. I'd rather use the spot for someone like House from the VFL team.

WC will be looking to re-jig their forward set up after the last couple of finals games have shown it doesn't stand up under pressure. Darling in particular may be moved out - to defence or out all together. That allows for a taller forward with second ruck capabilities to complement Nic Nat rather than spend large chunks of time on the bench. I still think Vardy has what it takes [even though there are few left who do] . And will attract some interest. For example Smith came to us via the NEAFL after serious injury (knee) and it took him those 12 months to get back into any form.

Rucks who leap - and thats Vardy's go - must fear another knee injury during their return year more than smaller players. I think he just wanted to get thru the year.
