It will be in the last hr if it gets done due to gibbs and kennedy deals i think. Gc have list spot issues so they probably want to try and upgrade a lower pick (s) and ablett to a higher pick, unless we are trading a 2018 2nd/3rd rnd. Be interesting to see what happens.
The people spruiking Ablett's BnF win from 14 games haven't worked out that this says more about how shit the GC list is than it does about Ablett's brilliance.
Great achievement! Please keep in mind that I'm not saying he wasn't good when he played.
I just think his BnF win says more about how shit his team mates are.
Again, I'm not saying he didn't play well.
I just think it's a disgrace that no one else in the rest of the team could get more votes in an entire season.
It's the club BnF! They HAVE to give votes to players every match. It's not like the brownlow where the opposition might get the votes.
No Sun's player was consistently good enough relative to their team mates to get the points.

I'm not sure they do have to give votes every week. Wiki seems to suggest the coaches can just not give votes if they want. Anyway I just saw he won with 126 votes with second place on 104. That's a crazy margin for such a short season from him. I guess then going 6-8 with him in the team and 0-12 without him would have something to do with that.

It's disingenuous to keep bringing up that he was just the best out of a very weak team.
He was ranked high in the coaches award. Meaning he was not just competing with his own team, but with all players in the league. And he did pretty well.

Despite being in a team that was regularly losing and finished bottom two, he was getting coaches votes. So he was considered to be one of the better players when compared to members of the losing team and the winning team on the day.
