Would they trade him for that ..? 30-40? Stewart cost us 40...
Not sure. I reckon it will depend alot on what happens in the back end of this season. If they're already resigned to losing him which is my guess then yeah, I think they might be prepared to accept that. I know that I'm sitting on the fence but it's hard to say this far out...

Its all guesstimate ... Id see a few issues. Are we still on their Christmas card list? After Ablett and Smith and Caddy ... We don't have a pick in that range ...and the Suns would probably want a 2019 pick. ... and he was a R1.. I doubt they like the idea of trading him for that. We have done it a heap of times but they are a little more sensitive about things. Go on to their board and off P40 and see how you go.

The thing is I can almost see us losing Thurlow if he doesn't get games.. and I doubt we would get much for him Thurlow for KK ..is not a great trade atm id have to say.

I hope you're right but I don't think that the Suns will let him go that cheaply mate. They've invested alot in him and they'll want something back for it I reckon. His talent is unquestioned. The GC Suns aren't us... They don't deal in the same way.
If they keep playing him in the 2’s his value has to drop. It shows they don’t rate him, so they can’t turn around and expect a high value for him if they don’t even value him enough to play him in the seniors.

You would think so but GC aren't going to be easy to deal with at the end of this season I reckon mate. It is very early days though so let's wait and see how the season plays out.

You are not wrong ... I think they will be very grumpy.

Perhaps we need West Coast to tell us how they dealt with them last year ... posters on the GC board are not happy with a deal Clayton did ..and I can see why.. Its seems Clayton almost backed WestCoast to be a rabble this year ... and atm he is losing big time.

In DVI points..
(2017 P21,P26 , P37) and (2018 estimate P20)(3002) <> (2017 P50 and estimate 2018 P14)(1434)

Wells has done a few risky future trade over the years but that one should get someone fired.

Pure_Ownage how did this deal get done .. it just seem so one sided.

Anyway ...I cant see Gold Coast being too easy to get along with ...

Scott Clayton is now at WCE lol. He was fired before the trade period but they kept him in the role until the draft.

Usually I'd say it because he is awful but that trade is extremely sus

My assumption was they did it hoping Freo would take the WCE 2018 R1 for Weller so they could keep pick 2 but they clearly miscalculated that one, terrible trade.

I wonder if Freo said ..we want an r1... then they got it ..and Freo said no what we meant was your r1 ...

But after this and the Haw deal... how could the afl ever question any trade?

wasnt caddy on similar coin to scott selwood? plus caddy only signed a new contract the season before. how could we get his contract so wrong?
We expected more from Caddy I'd say. At his best, he could have been part of the midfield with Danger, Selwood and Duncan.

He was still best 22, but wasn't good enough to be a core midfield member, so instead, he ended up being a highly paid forward (which he didn't like being at the time).

that move to the forward line happened a year before he signed a 3 year deal at geelong.

I always felt that the move to the forward line was initially was part of his development - that he could be a genuine goal-kicking midfielder - which he sort of has become. But the plan was always for him to be in the centre with Joel and Mitch. Then Danger came in and Caddy didn't rise and complement the midfield, rather became an inferior version of Danger. After that, he could see the writing on the wall. That, plus a good offer from Richmond, his mate moving to Richmond and Geelong happy to clear his contract off the books to try and get Ablett (last minute) or Deledio, meant that it was an easy decision to leave.

It’s all worked out ok though hasn’t it? Caddy is playing well and has a premiership. While geelong have Menegola playing a similar role and Parfitt deleoping very well as the player picked with the caddy trade.

That's misleading though he was playing forward at Geelong as he had had injuries and didn't have the endurance for full time midfield we planned for him to end up there. Then we got Danger Menegola and Scooter at end 2015 so the midfield need became less important and he wasnt happy to stay as a forward and wanted more money.

What would Darcy Moore be worth ? Pickering says more than Swans interested.
They'd want a R1 min. If our R1 was say 14-20 I'd do it but I'd want a thorough medical (then again Coll has a poor record with soft tissue injuries so he might be less injury prone at another club). Tom McDonald as an FA might be a good cheaper option (although he might only come if we take his brother too).
