Haha I wasn't being serious. My phone neglected to add the laughing emojis I had initially put at the end of that post.
Off topic but have you heard of Nic Nats Nike vice?
Now I don't know if he hunts collectables or not. You'd think he would. But he has a room with shelving purely to display his nikes.
He's not sure how many he has. Reckons it's around 400 pairs now.

And parish just got dropped..

Can play.. and pops has a good relationship with him when at Dons..

I’m watching with interest

Go Catters
The Parish clan must almost be similar to the Selwoods ... and third one is at the Falcons now Finlay ..and their is a 4th to come.. Another example of why id be prepared to trade FSon rights for a local academy.

Darcy Parish was a pretty handy type ..sort of a Shagga Byrnes type? As usual it gets back to cost ..they would want more than id be prepared to give I think. Player trade perhaps? I wouldn't be surprised if they had a talk to GHS.. the need inside mids and he will be FA at years end. ..doesn't help us much in this situation.

Id prefer to take our early pick to the draft this year ... unless its a very good deal. and i mean VERY GOOD.

On Rucks.. we probably need more info.. the club is more than likely looking at multiple options ... they have their 198cm academy kid mentioned in the article above .. Blake Schlensog .. and they were one of the clubs talking to the Bradtke boy.

Its all well and good chasing our tail looking at players at other clubs but we need to also have the alternate option of an inhouse player developed on our list ... lets draft someone .. said it before depending on what pick we get we should consider the Williams kid very carefully.

A bit has been made about Preuss dropping off this year and there was an article on his stats somewhere which did show a drop off around the ground but his ruck work had stayed pretty consistant. I'd definitely still be interested and his trade value would have taken a bit of hit due to the perception. I guess the sticking point is Goldstein ageing, youd really need Preuss to agitate for a move to try and force their hand into trading him. Id say he would be worth an early second round pick which we dont have though.
North would trade Goldstein before they trade Preuss and Preuss is contracted.

Signed contract extension and is their no1 post Sandi. Won't leave IMO.
Another example of draft our own ... ..now Im not saying we should have taken him..he was taken a few picks before Stewart but any decent ruck will cost more than that down the track. Have you seen the Falcons kid this year Hollenkamp?

Pass, he has spent his career as a 2nd ruckmen. The games where he has been the number one haven't been pretty.
I thought he has had a good season this year. Look at Banker's when he was at Sydney same thing. Was number 2 Tucuman and then went to Richmond has been good

Sean Darcy please Geelong cheers.
Contracted and is seen as the replacement for Sandi. Fremantle won't trade him.

Scott Lycett is more attainable. He's a FA and wouldn't cost as much.
I think Parish is very gettable, have heard murmurs he wants to get to Geelong, watch this space is all I will say on it.
He's a small midfielder and he isn't what we need.

What about Scott Lycett free agent..
I'm not as enamoured with Lycett as some on this board, but he's the type of ruckman I'd be looking at. As Roos suggested - a big 'banger'. Preuss would be top of my list - Goldstein probably has another year or two left in him and you'd think Preuss would be getting sick of playing reserves. Wave a decent contract under his nose (and a near guarantee of being number one ruckmen in a consistently good side, rucking to Ablett, Dangerfield, Selwood et al) and see if he can be moved. Would have to be at least a little tempting.

Freo or norf aren’t going to give up their next in line ruckmen. Goldy and sandi are on their last legs and they are the replacements. Not in a million years do they give them up and be left with nothing.

Forget it.
Yep. More likely is North trying to offload Goldy for a 2nd rounder. Frees up cash and gives them additional points.

You do get the feeling that a dominant ruck is what we are really lacking, hence why our clearance numbers aren't where they should be for such a quality midfield.

Like Mumford?

If we can convince the player to leave, it doesn't really matter what their clubs want. We've seen that repeatedly over the years, regardless of contract statuses.

They tried to trade Goldstein but there were no takers as he is on a long term deal at 800k a year. Essentially a higher priced and better Mark Blake if we are using the Mumford analogy.

Preuss surely won't want to play all of 2019 in the VFL as well. I don't think we have the trade capital since I wouldn't be keen on trading our first for him but I think Preuss would be crazy to not request a trade somewhere at the end of the year.

Nankervis played 12 games at Sydney and was 22 years old when he was recruited. It was a gamble that paid off for them.

Lycett will be 26 by the end of the year. He'd have the same kind of upside that Stanley would.
