Haha! Most goals he's kicked in a season is 37. When he won Essendon's leading goal kicker, he did so with 34, 32 and 30 goals.
So what!...that's 4 years consistent. ...pretty good l'd reckon.
And in a crap team as well.
How often will Dobson head an AFL clubs goalkicking. ..never let alone 4 times.
Can play flank as well, does run well.

Kicking that many goals would have been 4th for us this year behind hawkins danger and menzel and we all know menzel is year to year due to his knees etc. I am not super keen on crameri but i do think we need more forward power generally.

With Geelong promising Hayball a rookie spot how do we get Crameri? Not with a late draft pick I hope?

We have to have 44 (plus oconnor is 45) across senior and rookie and we currently have 38 incl rookies. Wells said we will take 5 new picks or 4 and a rookie both leave us one short at 43 so i took that comment that he already has hayball factored in as the 44th player. So itll be 5 picks or we pass on the 5th to take Crameri either as a DFA or rookie (38/6 means both crameri and hayball can be rookied).

I've got no idea. I assume though that he takes up a list spot that needs to be found either with a draft pick or reneging on the Hayball offer.
Wouldn't need a draft pick if the intention was to put him on the main list. If he's been drafted as a rookie, then it seems that means they can't get Hayball as to the best of my knowledge there'll only be one rookie spot on the list.

Nah they can run 38/6 rather than 39/5 means they can have the 4 current rookies plus hayball and crameri. It just means they cant use more than 4 picks in the ND (we currently have 34 on senior list incl Parsons).

Crameri was a marginal player 3 years ago, filling our list with "good back ups" isn't going to help us do anything.
There's backups and backups. Crameri was a 1sts player before injury and suspension.

Black was a VFL player at Nth for years. Same with a few others we have drafted. I agree about those backups. They just clog!!

I can almost see your point but I also doubt him making a difference...id rather give a local kid a shot even if it comes to nought. The two I have named , but im sure there are others. As I said..if he plays and becomes best22 and kicks goals in finals then i'l bow my head in deference ... but I see the addition of ZGuth and id hate to miss out on another young kid for a VFL player.
I am all for giving local kids a go too. I think at this present time though we have a number of "local" kids pushing hard. The kids on the rookie list last year and the VFL selections all showed a fair bit and have been retained.
Henry is a good example. Rarely mentioned in dispatches here or in the "news". The Age pre draft discussion of Geelong lists Henry as a small/medium forward.

In my opinion Henry is only competing with Black from their list (and House on their talls list).
He is listed on the GFC site at 191cm but he looked quite a bit taller than that live. He also improved rapidly at the end of last VFL season and proved a surprise packet overhead (to me anyway). He was elevated to the main list too.
http://www.geelongcats.com.au/news/2017-08-10/jack-jumps-onto-senior-list

He is the McGovern type who would take his place as the second tall if he can follow up with a big (first ) full preseason. He is still raw though - lots to do - has a kid's muscle definition etc but has the tools to maybe make a difference.

Add Abbott ,Simpson,Zuthrie, House and JJones and local kids are in the mix. All have shown a bit.

Most of these kids won't be ready next year and Henry is probably the one furthest back.
Having shown they won't pick Black (even though he was quite good at VFL level and wasn't our worst when given an AFL run ) this suggests Crameri would be the DFA most useful. I wouldn't mind if he was the last one to be offered a place.

I think Daniels is likely to still be there at 35, he’s a good “footballer” in fact probably one of the best in the draft just that height will hold him back. A lot of Devon Smith about him.

I don’t know whether it’s worth the risk with his injury profile that’s all.

Which you rather Daniels or Miers.
For me it’s a easy decision I would take Daniels.
