That was my thoughts too I rate Taylor and he looks like a long term player to me but i think we have more of a need for KPF than KPD and they are harder to get earlier in the draft so i would probably think it better to take hayes or brander or allen (if they are there of course) ahead of the KPD though i do rate Taylor.
Butts not even mentioned in BA phantom... and to me looks a handy type if we picked him up in the same range as Gardner.

all over again?

24 and on the vid ..he would seem a player similar to House ... but 190cm a tad shorter.

...In another balanced team performance, Lachlan Smith was named as Kyabram’s best with Billy Burstin, Liam Ogden and Thomas Holman other standouts.

Newman praised the fantastic performance from Smith, who had 39 disposals and 21 marks in defence.
We were really there to watch Billy Burstin. Burstin2Buzza.

Clearly though they do have eyes on some absolute bolter late given their comments about possibly redrafting Ruggles late depending how the draft unfolds. If the bolter is off the table then they will take Ruggles again.

Am I the only one who just does not rate Wooller at all?

He’s got bust written all over him for mine. It irks me to see we are linked to him. I feel (hopefully) it is only due to his name.

Fingers crossed for o’brien or Tim Kelly with our first.

The other or Taylor/Balta/Petty with our next two picks followed by miers or best small forward available.

Hoping for no more ‘reaches’ - they haven’t worked of late.

Yeah maybe ... Ruggles drafting again depending on who is there could be just balm for his heart .. a bit of draft heartbalm ... and historically Heartbalm was nothing but a bit of printed juvenile wetdream fantasy

It seems an odd pick to me but Brett usually has ok mail so there might be something in it, but i really dont see the point of a bush league medium tall.

If they pick someone like that they must feel its worth a late pick Hail Mary. Id never have thought ZGuth would have been playing finals etc 12 months ago.. so i'll at least want to see someone and try to see what they have.

Consensus seems to be that McCartin will be available at 35 so I’d be pretty disappointed if we grabbed him with either of our first two. But this is what I’m expecting. Wells was prepared to trade down from 19 to 22 to get Ablett which tells me he has his eye on someone he knows will be there at that point. I’m not sure that if he really wanted the likes of Bailey, O’Brien, Richards, Murphy etc he’d have been willing to agree to that trade?

I reckon it’s either McCartin and/or Houlahan for 22 and 24 - both will almost certainly be there. Daniels another that may be called a fair bit higher than expected.

Daniels is apparently a bit of a character which isn't a bad thing.

We need a replacement for Kell.....
I like him. Just think we may be able to get better with our first two picks. Interestingly Anderson has Daniels going in the late 20’s so if we do want him then we may well have to take him with 22 or 24.

I'd be surprised if we took him that early...very surprised....

Then again, it is Wells making the decisions.:drunk::huh:

DtC's final draft guess before hitting the beach in Thailand.

22 Bailey

24 Murphy

35 Taylor

58 Coleman-Jones

72 Smith

I should add I know nothing...you can call me Schulz.

Motlop was pathetically ordinary most of the time.
Best was Selwood and Dangerfield and Motlop mainly in the second quarter v the Crows.
Where was he the rest of 2017.
You could say the same for Stanley or Lang.
i wouldnt have selwood near the bests. Selwoods attack on the ball was sensational. Clear best on ground in that category. But his disposal was woeful and killed us too many times. His net impact overall was just average.

People forget he was best av disposals winner in the whole competition apart from Tom Mitchell.
33×14 games... he's a comparible star to Dangerfield, consist high output!
dont think anyone questions that from last year. But how often will he play? Is the decline coming this year or is it still 2 years away?

Given we already had 22 though moving down from 19 to 24 may not mean anything re reaching for a player though it may just have been about getting ablett done.

I 100% agree. People say he can play forward or in the middle, but he doesn't really do either well.

Tbh, Wooller does not look like the type Wells will select, neither is Miers. I'd be very surprised if either are selected.

Ballard, Ling, Bonar on the other hand screams Wells.

Not sure I want the latter.

4 goals a game in the TAC wasn't it? You don't kick that by accident.

I appreciate that he's far from a certainty to make it but imo writing him off at this stage is premature. He looks better in my eyes than Battle did last year and Battle has shown some promise already.
