4 goals a game in the TAC wasn't it? You don't kick that by accident.

I appreciate that he's far from a certainty to make it but imo writing him off at this stage is premature. He looks better in my eyes than Battle did last year and Battle has shown some promise already.
Not even close, he averaged 2.5 goals a game from 16 games. How many goals did Karl Brown kick at TAC level last year?

Battle was underage tho, still Wooler looks at best an average player who will end up around crameri level if he's lucky.. which is quite sad considering he's got a good name

Yep, you're right. 43 goals in 16 games is still nothing to sniff at for a guy that rotates between forward and midfield imo. Brown kicked I believe 40 odd in fewer games, but that's as an overager.

Again, not saying that Wooller is the answer. Just that I think saying he's a bust is premature. I'm sure Wells has a better grasp of his potential anyway.

Players have won the award for the B&F in the TAC and done nothing so ..winning the B&F for his club is not an iron clad lock to make it ... but to me its a bit early to be saying he is not even a potentially good pick... who knows how he develops and when he matures. He may not make it ...odds say talls that are outside of R1 have a low success rate.. still id say , like plenty of players , that we all can make judgements of what you have seen as a Jr and its not always the deciding factor of whether a player makes it. Determination and work and as thing contribute.
If we choose him id not be upset..it would show that we think he could potentially develop into a player of worth..like Mooney or someone else. Battle adapted better than I thought he would so who knows.... so same as McCartin... its would be a pick based on what they might become rather than what they are now.

He was 6th in the Morrish and 3rd in the goalkicking. Not to shabby.
Might be a Cripps type mid/fwd don't need to be rocket fast just big and strong but is an athlete l believe.
6:32 2km TT.

I certainly think we have a need for more pace in the side. I'm just not sold on JP being the right one. I'd prefer Bailey who has run a sub 3 sec 20m but also wins his own footy and looks as tough as nails.
He is tough and has suitable mongrel!! Bit of chappy and rooke about him in that sense. He hits and tackles for keeps

Any of Bailey, O'Brien, Richards or Murphy with our first pick and then Taylor with our 2nd. Where going to need another KPD shortly, particularly after losing Lonergan and given it's likely Taylor's last year. Gardner hasn't yet debuted either so we're light on in that area. I feel Sam Taylor after a year of development at VFL level could slot straight in. He's got the frame to build up his strength rather quickly. And he's quick and has tremendous reach.
I would have Petty ahead of taylor for sure. Does all the same things but is a much better kick. Also he sister is an aussie netballer so clearly talent in the family!

Brent Anderson doesn't include Hugh Dixon, I'd take him as a rookie ahead of Hayball. I'd probably choose Dixon over Hayes, CCJ, Wooller or McCartin as a Pure Fwd option only.
Have seen him play live this year and I agree providing his speed and agility are not well below average. Haven't seen his testing numbers but have heard the question marks are in those areas. Looks a player with a lot of footy nous for his size and is good below his knees.

We need more players with that aggressive streak. It's hard to name even one in our team right now. Back in the flag years we had Chappy, Mooney, Milburn, Rooke etc. I think, aside from thinking the kid can actually play the game, we should bring in a bit of "c".

It seems like there are some quality key backs we could get in this draft but I am really hoping we move to a more dynamic backline. I would be using Kolo and Stewart as key defenders with Hendo and getting Gardner some games with Harry going back there. It could be that House develops into a defender as well that's plenty of tall defenders. As great as they've been the game has changed again and at times Lonergan and taylor have held us back over the last couple of years.

If there are quality small forwards and mids I'd be adding them at every pick, although if Hayes is available he'd be hard to ignore. I believe Buzza will develop into at least a solid afl player it would be great to have a young ruck/forward developing. I know we have a lot of quality mids but they are not young I really like Worpel I get the knocks on his disposal but that can be worked on. Looking to the future Worpel or constable could be a very good match with cockatoo in the middle.

I do rate worpel and constable but the only issue is i am not sure that they are likely to be able to play anywhere except clearance mid. The issue there is then they will sit in the vfl for years with no games unless we move current players to other positions to get them in (for eg duncan to win or guthrie defence or danger forward etc) and i am not sure if we will want to do that. It is easier to fit outside mid draftees in the side as we don't have many decent ones.

Agree with the other points the rest of your post raises though.

Article on the Herald Sun site about delisted players and who they are currently training with - opens with this:

Former first-round draft pick Blaine Boekhorst, mature-age Geelong defender Tom Ruggles and Magpies Adam Oxley and Jackson Ramsay are among the players to hit the track for pre-season time-trials in the hope of a lifeline in the pre-season or rookie draft.

After that it doesn't say who Ruggles is training with or mention that anyone is training with us. Anyone heard which club Ruggles is training with or did they just throw his name in the article to fill up space?
