It won’t happen so won’t have to worry. Wells isn’t that stupid. Ffs we took Krueger pre draft. Why would we draft another KPF unless a King fell when there are better players available?

I think your absolutely right...I have nominated Stocker...but RCD or Hately would be fine. I have an inkling it might be RCD.....either that, or someone we haven't heard of.....Smith, sadly. will be gone.

RCD, Stocker or possibly Sturt. I’ll be surprised if anyone falls but funnier things have happened.

I can see some reasons he has great disposal which we need he will rank highly for leadership which we value and hes probably the safest choice of the guys that will be there, at the very least will be a solid B grader and has little bust potential. The philosophical question is do you try and shoot for the stars and get someone with better athletic qualities who could be elite but has a bigger bust risk-e.g. King or Caldwell if we trade up or at 12 Thomas Hill Taylor Sturt Duursma Jones and to an extent RCD etc. We went the latter way when we went Cockatoo over safer picks in Weller and Duggan which so far hasn't worked but it could here. Personally I actually really want Thomas or Quaynor but our bids will probably get matched.

I also wouldn't rule out McHenry (i know that won't be popular around here) one club in the teens must be keen for him to get a draft invite and Wells has been vocal about us needing better pressure players.

Pickett will also be interesting there seems to be mail that both WCE and Geelong are keen (he fits our needs even ignoring the Kelly thing) WCEs late picks will go matching a Cameron bid so they probably have to take him at 22 (which is early for him) unless they want to risk us taking him at 50. Will they go early like they didn't with Kelly?

To be fair I think Stoker is very Meh and if you are looking for a very low risk player then Hately does everything that Stoker does except is far superior at it. Except my disposal by foot.

He needs to clearly put on weight. Pretty much all of them do. If all the usual suspects are gone and you had to choose between RCD and Sturt who would you take? (You’ll probably name someone else!)
I really haven't see any of Sturt other than the highlights on draft machine and his finals highlights left me less than impressed.

It's inpossible to say. I love Caldwell i love Ely Smith and I love Butters as mids. RCD has huge upside though.

Caldwell would be a dream.

Smith I’m not sure has huge upside. I don’t mind Butters but I’m not sure we should be going for another sub 180cm mid.

RCD looks like he could be anything. Just not sure he will be...

I wouldn't be unhappy with RCD put it that way. As for Butters, imagine him, Constable and Parfitt in the same midfield in 4 years. Vision, composure, poise and class. We lack that.

RCD has arguably the highest upside in the draft class IMO.

He's definitely worthy of pick 12 IMO.

We certainly lack class. We lack a lot of things including an ability to win clearances. For that reason I’d take RCD in front of the others. I like his explosiveness and his skills by foot are very good. We do need to be adding more class and outside run though. Completely agree.

Don't know about RCD.

Quite polarised opinions on him.

Doesn't he lack an engine based on the combine testing? He didn't get any the Top results across any of the tests.

Also his production, contested marking, and goal stats seem a bit average at TAC level.

He looks more like a "handball by clearance" type, which we already have in Constable.

If he can handball effectively he will already be better equipped with a basic skill of the game than a lot of our seniors.

Hi David

I've sent a request to support@bigfooty.com to ask for my name change several times. I think it is not being received as I haven't even received a response let alone a name change. Please advise what my next step would be

I want a tall mid, but one that does all that RCD struggles to do.
Jackson Hately has all those things in abundance not only that but he's 12 mths younger than RCD and already playing senior footy.
His averages in seniors are better than RCD manages at U18 level, who's really got more upside and he's just turned 18.

Joel Corey in his draft year won the Larke Medal and was rated one of the best kids in the country. I’m not sure that Stocker has either the potential or runs on the board at the same stage that Corey had?

I’m not too concerned about Sturt’s ability to withstand the rigors of AFL. He already I think 78kg so isn’t quite the string bean that he’s made out to be.

The issue is with Sturt other players have done more pre seasons in football programs and shown their bodies can handle it. His hasn't. So while he has a lot of upside that's where the risk lies for me.

As always, your posts are A grade PO.

I don't think that it's likely but I could realistically see Smith or King falling.

I think that we probably take RCD or Bailey Williams.

Carlton - Walsh
Gold Coast - Lukosius
Gold Coast - Rankine
St. Kilda - M.King
Port Adelaide - Rozee
Gold Coast - Smith
Footscray - B.King
Adelaide - Valente
GWS - Jones
Port Adelaide - Hately
GWS - Caldwell
Geelong - ??????

In that scenario I would take Clark but I can see Wells being keen on Stocker Duursma and Quaynor they all fit the type of players he likes. Wouldn't rule out RCD although he is very similar to Constable.

I dont see GWS taking a King if available, they have Briggs who is the best ruck prospect in the draft academy tied so wont fill a possible long term ruck hole and are stacked for key position players even with Lobb departing, they will draft midfielders.

That would be Hayes who they signed until 2021. With Ryder and Lycett rucking he won't get a game in any other spot. Plus they have Watts and Frampton who could play forward plus Ladhams and Howard can play both ends. How many talls do they want? Given they have no picks after 15 i would think their R1's need to go on some quality outside run.

I agree, though Frampton and Ladhams will likely get delisted next year and Hayes is seen as their ruckman heir, rather than a forward.

I think B grade is really bottom end for him... but I see why some not be excited... It like buying a great pair of work boots compared to dress shoes..less flash but down the track... day after day, week after week you are glad with the choice. The top end of this draft is heavy and one might say most other years he would be a single figure pick. Id pick Caldwell over him but id be happy to walk a way with this medal winner.

What are we thinking with Picket? Add him and keep Keely? Add him and he goes in a package to wc? Add him as a Kelly replacement ..or add him him being Kelly #2

I think Duursma is flying under the radar a bit. He could be one Wells pulls out of a hat.

Another is Luke Valente, the club and Wells have interviewed him and he’s been invited to draft night.
