Someone will say one of our draftees is the next Enright or Corey.

Kemp is not pure inside like Robertson.. it depends I think on what Freo does... Robertson apparently good mates with Jordan Clark... wanst to be taken before 15 ... cause thats what JC was taken at..

Would be an awesome opportunity if we could draft him with pick 14 then. It slides out after bids to 17. The rivalry would be intense.

I really like Kemp and what he could be, but his knee scares the hell out of me. I hope he's gone prior to our first pick, because it becomes a hard choice between him and Robertson for Wells. I know we've had some success with injured junior players, but we've also had some big failures too.

This is one of the Kelly picks and I think we need to get this right. Robertson is pretty safe, and if Kemp is there at 17 with Robertson already secured, why not take the risk? If we draft Kemp at 14, GC will likely swoop on Robertson with the next pick..

Handy pick-up
Probably a better option than D Williams.
But not sure if Taheny is better.
Don't mind all three though at 36.
Given the ruck situation, we could pull a trigger on Comben though at 36, but prefer if we get a ruck option cheap at the rookie draft.

My extremely hopeful wish list:

• Draft Robertson with 14 and Sharp with 24 (both being picks we got in the Kelly trade).
• Have both of them line up against WCE at Optus in a match we win

Regardless of what happens tonight, I just want to say it's been enjoyable reading posters informative comments over the last few weeks. I feel like I know the draftees strengths, weaknesses etc a lot better than what I did. I have not contributed much as I don't have that level of knowledge of the draftees, but it has been good to read and follow in the lead up to the draft

Remember that Kemp is a die hard Hawthorn supporter so you would think they would have spoken to him. I worry about Robertson being a West Coast supporter, that for me could spell trouble in the long run with the go home factor.

Yep, off the top of my head, Chappy was mad Collingwood and Bartel a mad Tigers man.

How much effort do you think they put into actually developing football in these areas?? All they are doing is just identifying the elite kids at a young age who would have played AFL and been drafted anyway, and throwing them into their academy.

There is zero investment and growth happening. Get the AFL in to invest into the whole area and then we can see actual growth for the entire regions, not just cherry picking the kids who are already good which is giving absolutely nothing in terms of growing any of these regions

get the afl to pay for it. Also get the discount reduced to 5%, have it slightly higher for very strong league areas. Also give each Vic club the right to rookie one 19 year old each year that plays for their Vfl team.
