If if if if if is all I hear.... The guy is injury prone and has no standout attributes. At least Cockatoo showed a bit of flair when he managed to take the field. I hope for everyones sake both guys have a full preseason and turn it on next year - the realist in me says it won't happen and they will continue to get injured.. Lets see.

I don’t get the obsession some have with a player having to have some standout trait to become an A grade footy player.

Half our premiership side had absolutely no standout quality whatsoever and they did pretty much ok..

Selwood has never been quick an elite kick mark or great accelerator from a pack yet he goes alright... ling was the slowest thing since dial up internet yet went ok in the middle.

Just maybe if someone has a good footy brain and goes about everything the right way with the right approach they can become great players?? Don’t have to be usain bolt or mr soaring. Just saying

I don't have much time to read this forum anymore.

So.. Has mason woods been mentioned?

Reason I put it forward is this.

I know his dad. Outstanding athletism. Bloomed late at local level.
He's a local.
Sav is starting to look like a blend of Nic Nat and Ryder.

If that develops further, sav to ruck, woods to sav role.
I have no effing idea how we replace hawk.

Won't cost much.

David King has tried to block what? What do you mean missed the value?
He's really strong on not letting a repeat of the Tigers-Lynch scenario repeat, for any top 4 team.
Just asking when the optimal time to get Cameron would be- after we lose GAJ, Taylor, Hawkins, Selwood -seems a bit late to my pov.

The amount of times these flogs get caught out during trade week is funny as s**t...

Hint you flogs if it is a slow news day don't just make s**t up for the hell of it
In this case not such a bad thing
I'd like to see the Elliott Hawks hopers get flattened

If Wells says we'll have 4 picks in the first 25, and we get 6 & 7, it could be a field day
Flanders high possession, high clearance goal kicking mid
Kemp Big bodied mid (hidden local talent)
Jackson Best big man in the draft with ground skills
Taheny speedy, crafty goalkicker (and you can make Hummus from him)
C.Stephens Another local talent that has been hidden

These guys would be my wishes in order

Geelong will be going "all in" next year when Jeremy Cameron hits the market. It's been the plan for 2 years and nothing has changed. Country Victorian bloke and has told his manager he'll consider a move home once he honored current contract at the Giants. He's a Dartmoor boy - South West Vic and you'd think Geelong would back themselves in if he was to decide to come home. The obvious Hawkins replacement
If only what you said sounded so easy... Look i hope so but going to be tough to see Jeremy Cameron come to Geelong

How do you rate Sharp from WA? I’ve only seen him in the U18 games and some highlights. His skill level and X factor look second to none but have similar reservations with him as you do with Taheny. He just looked too happy to cruise from the games I saw yet I can’t help being seduced by the “moments” that I did see.

I think you are exactly spot on with the cruising stuff. That would be my major knock on him as well. Also not sure about the contested stuff but to be fair I don't watch the WA kids as closely as others. Great size, great runner and has been doing it for 2 years cause he was pretty impressive as a bottom ager. As obvious as it sounds it just depends where in the draft you are talking but wouldn't have any problem with Geelong taking him even inside 25.

I think you just need to look yourself l've posted enough stats and the consensus i
on BF is how he never was drafted last year or mid season.
He's on plenty of radars not just mine.
Obviously you don't think so.

I don't know if you get so combative in your opinions that you missed mine but I never suggested he didn't deserve to be on the radar. I just pointed out that there must be reasons he hasn't been selected and those who are most in the know aren't on big footy. Also I pointed out that you make this incredibly strong statements about how one player is so much better than the other and quote stats and other people's opinions on big footy to justify it. The point is if you haven't seen Taheny or Sokol how can't you make definitive statements like one is way better than the other? What I can assure you is I would be astounded if Sokol is taken before Taheny in this draft. However, according to you someone who has seen neither there is no debate and people who question you are just wrong.

I think at 25 he’d be worth a punt too.

Id not be planning for any pick inside 15 till it happens

That will give the coaching staff wet dreams. Lol

I had an email from AFL trade tracker. It mentioned Mason Wood for Jack Henry in a straight swap.

First I'd heard of this.

Do we have too many defenders and want to restore list balance by trading for a mobile forward?

Not sure I like the idea tbh.
Mason Wood is more or less average, and already 26.
Jack Henry is still very young and has room for improvement, plus he is a bit of an athletic beast.

It would make sense, as NMFC are looking to bolster their defence, and Cats are looking to bolster their forward line. Plus we seem to like getting ex-Falcons boys back on the list.
Both clubs seem to do the deals with little fuss.

Henry will be required full time in defence in 2021 when Harry and Hendo are gone.

Could be like a Aaron Black Pick... Wast that a pick in the 90???

Haven’t read all the posts on Zac Guthrie but give the kid a break. He was exposed to AFL far too early due to injuries of AFL listed players. If it wasn’t for that early exposure we’d be excited by this 20/21 year old who has put on some size and clearly has foot smarts.
