I could see Buzza potentially being placed on the rookie list. Which would make sense as he’s improved as a player. But we haven’t seen it at afl level. That makes it hard to get a read on where he’s at. Time on the rookie list with hopefully some afl games we’d find out.

Listening to Lethlen on trade radio it sounded like they are thinking Steven might stay. It sounds like saints and geelong are a fair way away from what pick is appropriate for Steven. I’d be happy to get Steven but only for the right price. If not he can recover this year and join next year as a free agent.

Didnt hear the interview but if Steven can get back to repay some of the support he has been given ..great. He decided to sign for 5 years 4 years ago.. his form last year is only worth of a pick far less than what will satisfy them. So he stays and plays ...if he can..

Have only seen Riccardi on the telly. Looks bigger and stronger than Kreuger (age?). Looked better overhead.
Can't really compare speed (ability to help out with forward pressure) As per earlier discussion.

If we like Riccardi , Buzza has to go to free up a list spot.

Would definitely get Riccardi we need a new tall with talent.
Stocks are thin and aged as it is.

If that was the case we should of traded him and run to the hills like bandits.
In hindsight yeah. But he is fine as a back up ruckman on small money. The issue was drafting fort and then having too many ruckmen. Can't see what the point of drafting fort was, when we have stanley and smith battling for no 1 ruck, and abbott as a reserve in case of injury. 4 rucks is pointless if they are mostly crap and won't play afl.

The Worpel love/regret needs to be tempered somewhat. Some of these kids get thrown into situations and lift. Worpel was always a ball winner but with Tom Mitchell going out he got his chance in the guts and took it. Walsh as another example plays more centre bounces than established stars. Kudos to them but Worpel at Geelong wouldn't be getting anywhere near the opportunity I suspect.

Perhaps we play kids out of position and stunt their development. Weaker clubs can't afford to be so cute. Perhaps they are mistakes we made. Perhaps we take a slow and steady approach which doesn't work. Valid questions. I'm not regretting Constable and Fogarty yet though.

Could not believe the knock on here at the time with Worpel l thought he was perfect Selwood replacement at the time.
But the naysayers where loud, when the Hawks picked him l knew we would regret it.

There was talk last week that if he didn't get to Geelong he could very well retire, to me that sets off alarm bells in itself, if true then his issues obviously run deeper than what a change of clubs would fix unless of course the issue is inside the club, but to be willing to retire over it proves he isnt ready to turn it around. I'd stay far far away if I was Geelong, this has disaster written all over it.

Someone make a trade!

It also doesnt help that a huge amount of players are trying to trade out while in contract. So I can see why clubs are playing hardball; look at what happened with us via Kelly. Now that is happening tenfold.

If we can get him for cheap, I wouldn’t be opposed to having a shot for Jenkins.

The more I look at trades and other available players the more I want Wells to go down the late 90s early 00s path of drafting a solid core of players. I feel like he'd done well in our last 3 drafts

best 22:

- O'Connor
- Parfitt
- Stewart
- Ratugolea
- Narkle
- Henry (r)
- Kelly* (replaced with Constable)
- Constable
- Miers
- Clark
- Atkins (r)

promising/potential
- Fogarty
- Krueger
- Jarvis

IMO we really need one more drafts worth of players to set up the current young guys we have, namely a full time ruckman. I don't care if Danger/GAJ/Hawkins/JS don't win a flag, they won't with the current team if we top up with spuds anyway. Go the rebuild Wells. Just do it. Bring us glory again!
