It’s a fair question but a hard one. We clearly weren’t far off and, as evidenced by our record, don’t have many obvious holes.

You could say the ruck but there’s challenges filling that hole. Firstly, there are only a handful of gun ruckmen going round at any time and none of them are attainable. Secondly, if you can’t get a gun then is a B-grader really much of an upgrade on what we have already? Marginally. Drafting one has a high bust rate and takes years to beat fruit anyway.

I’d say when we have fallen down in finals recently we have struggled to score. We have lacked potency. I’d be focusing on bringing in players who hit the scoreboard, be they forwards or mids.

Agree on the ruckman for sure, the 3 that played off in the final were B graders at best but I do wonder if the game style we play maybe would make a good ruck more valuable to us than Richmond,

That is fairytale stuff no way we will end up with all those players. I highly doubt Menegola will get traded. Crows would want more for Crouch and Laird.
Id be happy to pick up Steven and Jenkins cheap. Not totally against Bennell as a rookie but doubt he’ll end up at geelong. If we get some first round picks I hope we use them on young talent in the draft.

Yeah agree on it's being very unlikely though if we did bring in Steven & Crouch I think Menegola's days would be numbered.

What do people want on here from WCE for TK:

A) Pick 14 + 2020 First Round;

or

B) Pick 14 + 24 + 33.

OR go to Freo and get:

C) Pick 6 (+ Pick 26 hopefully).

B probably looks ordinary on paper but would look a lot better at draft.. The fact is nothing will be as tasty as what Freo could give us... Gee id like Melb to go hard at Gaff or Petro ..that would change it a bit..

Only upsetting Fox..and in the end ..what will be will be ... we will not know what we end up getting for him till post the draft... the number on the picks is probably deceptive this year..its not like last year... a clever pick may well be found in the 20's..

Danger was traded for a top 10 pick, a second rounder and a young player.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but we were better off offering Danger a godfather offer and not orchestrated that Mikey Mouse deal and then taking the local kid Curnow in the draft

I wonder what that would have done for our cap . perhaps no Henderson or 2e ..perhaps a player going not extending ? But 20/20 and Currnow.. I think we would. Geelong boy, was a line ball call at the time I'm sure anyway. Jarrod Berry ended up as the Brisbane selection with our Hendo first rounder. He'd be handy now too.

He only played a half of VFL this season but by all accounts was as explosive and ferocious as ever. Here’s hoping we can get 15+ games out of him in 2020 because right now we’re being robbed of a seriously talented player and he’s being robbed of a successful career, sadly.

It's a bit the same as Nathan Freeman, always look so good when they play but they just can't maintain it without injury.

I hope he can get back at it, that pace he has and ability to back up sprinting efforts is as close as there is to that aspect of Cyril in the AFL right now. Laid some brutal tackles from memory too.

He recently signed a new contract and said he can’t wait to play Hawthorn again. He’s desperate to get payback for the targeting off the ball treatment he received as an 18 year old on Easter Monday.
He has lost no pace and has been hitting the gym hard. He trains with a montague of the cats v hawks games flashing through while eye of the tiger plays.

On SEN or trade radio? Did you hear it? Interesting if so to rule out Jenkins that means he’s not coming. Wells might not tell the whole truth but he generally doesn’t lie

No Jenkins a lot will be happy with that here. Smith out, Buzza likely out and the mc won’t play Abbott or Fort enough.

I can’t see where we get another ruck from in this trade period. And I would like some key forward depth. I like Krueger but I’m not sure he can come in and play a full season.

I know they are two positions that are very hard to fill. I’m not sold on Riccardi he hasn’t impresses in some vfl games I’ve watched. But not totally convinced of what he could son at afl level.
