WARNING TO ALL VISITORS TO THE GEELONG BOARD. You are - for the most part - welcome to discuss the current list management & trading situation at Geelong. However, this is our board, so be respectful of the home board posters & don't inflame arguments (make your points succinctly and move on). And if you're just here to troll, then don't bother or you will be enjoying a holiday

Late picks bring kids like this into play

Henry Walsh

Height203cmWeight87kgCurrent TeamGeelong Falcons, Vic CountryBirthdayJune 27, 2002

POSITION: Ruck
DRAFT ANALYSIS: “Walsh is the clear standout tap ruckman from Victoria with an aggressive nature and improving ground level work.” – Peter Williams
Henry Walsh is one of the more talked about prospects this year and not just because he is the standout Vic Country ruck talent. His brother Sam has already made his mark on the big stage with a Rising Star, Best Young Player and Mark of the Year award in two seasons, and is cemented in Carlton’s midfield. Henry is a little different, with a casual 19cm and half a dozen more kilograms over his older brother, and whilst he also plays on-ball, he is the one tapping it down to the midfielders. He was able to represent Vic Country last year in one match, and was expected to lead the charge in 2020.
STRENGTHS:
  • Ruck craft
  • Vertical leap
  • Clearances
  • Aggression
  • Ground level work
  • Upside
IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Speed
  • Endurance
  • Marking

Reckon he goes around Pick 30 though, so not sure we get that lucky

See I rate him fine with REAL R1 picks.. sub 10
Made some very ordinary or interesting choices in last years draft especially when there were some pretty good names on the board. Went completely left field

Depends ... there are a couple of them before him I think

eDPS .. Ed has a good eye, he has Heath and Neale before him ... in the top45

Interesting...I like the look of Heath, but I saw him inside the Top 30. With that said, it does mean that Walsh is a fair chance to slip to us - especially if we trade up on draft night

It’s been reported by some WA media apparently.
Still zero proof at all.
Not one little bit

The same WA media that reported Clark was imminently heading back to WA, haha. Yeah I'm not putting much stock in that.

But if it were to happen, I'd be stoked. I originally said we'd give up our Pick 38 and nothing more than that for Brander. If it ends up being a Future 2nd - and more important it ends up being real - then that would be about spot on and a huge win
