Thing is... if we’re paying him 600k that’s band 2, pick 19. Which will be pick 27 or something.

I’m thinking they’d be d*ckheads and match.

If it came to paying one of our 3 first rounders for him, I would not do it.

Rather go after Caldwell for our last R1. Or better, just go to the draft.

Crouch is not unique, or a match winner or anything different to what we have and I’d rather go to the draft if it came down to a trade.

What he has on his side is his age and he's a known quantity. Not likely to get anyone out of the draft who's plug and play like he is

They certainly won’t get pick 11. So if Band two (End of Rd1) works out to be 27 as you hypothetically state (20 really) then our 1st round picks could be 23 and 25.

What’s the difference? If they match then off to the PSD for him like Jack Martin. They have disrespected him all year and now they are taking the moral high ground

Just saw this on the Crow's board:

"Did anyone listen to Tex interview with MMM. Roo asked Tex who was best off ground at the drinks. Tex mentioned Brouch. Roo said one last hurrah, then quickly covered that with if you listen to Jars that is. It sounded like he slipped up imo."

Looks a certainty now that he's leaving - too many whispers coming out from people close to the club

Ricciuto really is all class with conducting these matters around player movement with discretion and respect, isn't he?

Carlton had a huge amount of cap space to front load his deal and ward club's off..We don't have that much.

We however have enough to walk him into the ND on 650k and I doubt anyone uses a R1 on him so we could take him with our last R1.

In a trade I expect the best we offer is our latest R1 plus one of our SA kids (kennerley Jarvis tarca close etc) and for that they are better off taking the compo. Hopefully they are sensible.

Thing is a band2 comp..is only a couple later than our R1 pick... so if they match its not to get just that pick. they want two.. or a pick and a player...

so unless something can be worked out ..then I agree .. make it known that we have placed your value around here ..and if the crows match its them that is messing you up. ... but I cant remeber us doing something like that we tend to try to make deal work.

With Crouch we need to be very clear that we are only interested in him as a free agent and that we will not, under any circumstances, be trading for him. If that offends him he can play out his days in obscurity.

So where did you read the confirmation that Essendon are interested?

My only exception this is if they match and he goes to the draft we consider him there. But I wouldn't consider trading big for him no.

I guess its back pocket weapon but it would be a big change for us to put him in the draft...

Come on Frggr this is like when someone has died and you are making joke....To early mate

Just trying to see the bright side. I wish him well, but actually think he'll turn out like a lot of other Geelong send-offs - won't quite tear it apart.

I don't think he'll ever have confidence in his body again. That said, happy to eat my words and see him smash it up. Just not against us :p

The day I take heed in anything Jon Ralph says is the day I also take heed in anything written form mainstream media.

I think last minute when he realised he wasnt being rated as highly as he thought he slashed the price to try and push the Gold Coast trade through.

Bloke must be desperate to get out of Adelaide.

Wasnt there talk that he’d be happy to stay if given around 600k 4-5 years but Adelaide weren’t willing? I think his preference is probably to stay in Adelaide to be honest but it’s just not an option.
